McCain: "Sen. Barack Obama, would be "absolutely" qualified to be president" - SaintsReport Community Forums
So it looks like McCain has reversed his position on whether Obama is qualified to be president:
Quote: : Sen.
John McCain, the presumptive Republican nominee for president, said Sunday that the leader for the Democratic nomination, Sen.
Barack Obama, would be "absolutely" qualified to be president, should the voters elect him.
But, he said, "I believe that my talent and my background and my experience, which has led to my judgment, ...
Qualifies me more."

I wouldn't take his word for it, he doesn't even know how many houses he has.

McCain is getting a bad rap man.
If he would have picked Leiberman, He probably would have gotten my vote.
I truly believe the GOP screwed him 8 yrs ago when they elected Jr.
With that said, Obama is going to make a great prez...

|
Additional evidence that McCain isn't competent to be president.

My My have the tables turned!

He has to say it after picking Palin who is far less experienced and qualified than Obama!!

i would have voted for him back then as well but the McCain of today is nowhere near the Mccain of 2000.
He has been molded into another of Rove's carbon candidates.

The only qualification to be president is that you meet the consitutional guidelines.
Past that it's all opinion and conjecture.
Experience may matter, but it isn't mandatory.

Uh , No . She's not .

We all expected hinm to drop the Obama=inexperienced arguement anyway after picking Palin, and We all know hes prone to making speaking gaffes, and yes, this is a head shaker, im still not really concerned over it.

She has been a mayor and a governor.
Both are postitions where executive experience is gained.
Obama has been running for president ever since he got elected to the Senate, and before that, he was a state legislator and community organizer...
McCain must be using reverse psychology

McCain must be using reverse psychology Democrats have a point about Palin, but it is not a battle they want to fight because the side affect is that it also implicates Obama.

Quote: : Uh , No .
She's not . She has no educational background other than a minor in political science and her undergrad degree is from University of Idaho (or Idaho State).
Obama's undergrad is from Columbia and he has a law degree from Harvard where he was in the top of his class.
There's no comparison.

She's only been governor for two years and prior to that was the manager/mayor of a tiny tiny town.
Quote: : The New York Times today referred to: "Wasilla, a growing suburb of ...
Who just two years ago was serving as mayor of Wasilla, Alaska, population 5470.
...
BTW - Alaska has a total population of less than 750,000 people so we're talking about a very small state population wise.
None of this experience is close to as valuable as 4 years in the Senate.

This is the growing, gnawing feeling I get as well about McCain...

I was going to post this...
You beat me to it!!
But it is 100% true I wanted McCain to pick Leiberman but it seems he has opened a can of "what the Heck" with this pick....
I think he was wanting to sway "on the fence" Hillary supporters but I think it will turn off as many voters as it attracts...
JMHO

Your comparing education levels?
That doesn't work for me.
I know some fairly dumb people with multiple degrees.
And I know some fairly intelligent people with no degrees.

Here you might have something, but not too much.
Being the executive of a state with a small population, and a mayor of a town, regardless of size, is a different type of experience then spending 4 years in a senate though, and its hard to realistically compare the two overall, but you can compare aspects of it.
