RealGM :: View topic - Help the Wizards
What are your offers for any combination of these pieces:
Etan Thomas
Darius Songaila
Antonio Daniels
Oleksiy Pecherov
Memphis 1st (heavily protected till 2010)
2008 #18 pick
Needs: 7-foot backup C, a backup SF who can score, and a backup PG who can defend.
Bad contracts welcome!

Marco Jaric will always be available for the backup PG who can defend with bad contracts welcome category.
Lakers would offer you Chris Mihm and Vlade Radman for Daniels.

I think that the Wiz have tons of firepower and what they actually need is a hustling and defense playing PF.
Blatche still feels more like a tall SF to me (of course he might grow into it).

Something along the lines of:
Nick Young + Blatche for Calderon + Toronto 1st
Then
Gilbert Arenas + Washington 1st + Toronto 1st for Brand
Makes you guys a ridiculously good team, with a starting lineup of:
C - Haywood
PF - Brand
SF - Jamison
SG - Butler
PG - Calderon
Tell me that is not a championship quality team .

Wait, Gilbert AND TWO #1's for Brand?

He definitely has a lot more value than Arenas.
Maybe Arenas + 18th would do it, but I'm not so sure.
Brand is an elite big on BOTH ends of the floor, Gilbert is elite on offense, a liability on defense, and somewhat of a tweener.
Brand seems to have fully recovered from his achilles injury, Gilbert is in a worse situation injury-risk wise.

Wait, Calderon and a 1st for Young and Blatche?
I don't see any reason for the Wiz to even consider that one...

The 1st is the 17th pick.
Young was the 16th pick last year.
I think I would rather take my chances with Batum than Young..
then
Calderon for Blatche.
I don't see why Toronto would entertain this trade.
If Calderon and a 1st are moved it will be for a proven wing.

We need a chris paul type pg.
Someone extremely smart and super fast and agile.
PG that can break down a defense, pass first defensive point guard who is guarnteed to get fouled on a fast beak.
We had all that with gilbert..except he wasn't quick enough to stay with point guards and he isn't smart enough create for his team mates...but he didn't have to to because he could force a foul at any time with penetration offensively, but his lack of quickenss against point guards is why our bigs were always giving up fouls.
So if we can find that super quick guard, smart off the fast break, and quick enough to stop any guards driblble penetratin..and n create on his with shot clock winding down...excellent.
Maybe one of those guards from the grizzlies.

Meant the Raps, not the Wiz.
I don't get why they'd trade the better player and the pick for a couple of nice prospects.
Can someone explain it to me?

BBallFreak is right.
There is no chance in hell that the Wizards would trade Young and Blatche for Calderon.
I seriously doubt they'd even trade Blatche for him straight up.

He meant to say that TOR would decline, not us.
