Has Chris Paul passed LeBron? - ProSportsDaily Forums
Has Chris Paul passed LeBron?
Chris Paul has dominated in the playoffs.
He put a gaping hole in Dallas' defense in the first round and made the Spurs' D look silly in Games 1 and 2.
By comparison, LeBron looked mortal against Washington and stunk out the joint in Games 1 and 2 against Boston.
Has CP3 passed LeBron as the top player under age 25?

No, but chris paul has owned lebron stat wise in the playoffs, lebron cant even buy a bucket against the celtics

Quote: : I don't know, Paul owned LeBron in the MVP voting too.
Isn't that a pretty good indication of the power shift?
|
 |
Quote: : Well...Steve Nash owned Kobe in the voting the past 3 years....but I don't know anyone who would say Nash was ever better than Kobe....Lebron has a crappier team than he did last year....is Paul becoming one of the best players in the NBA?
I would say hes top 5....but I would still say Lebron is better....just because he can impose his will on a game much more with much more pressure on him....not taking anything away from CP3....but David West is a beast, Chandler is a difference maker on the defensive end, and Peja can go off any game....Lebron has really nobody who can take the pressure off of him offensively Lebron has to make everyone around him better but has no one around him to make Lebron better....Coach, players, and GM included....

I don't think so but CP3 has certainly opened my eyes.
I had no idea that this kid was this good.
He actually kind of reminds me of John Stockton.
He makes the simple play and isn't too flashy but he rarely makes mistakes and is ultra efficient.
Also he runs the pick and roll to perfection and plays the passing lanes as good as anyone.

Quote: : See I woulda said that described D-Will more but both of those guys have Stockton type qualities....Paul is already a better scorer than Stockton though....
|
 |
Quote: : I think that comparison gets made a lot just because D-Will is on the Jazz.
D-Will reminds me of an improved version of Chauncey Billups.
He's a little chode.
A PG bully. CP3 is more fundamentally sound IMO.
He makes the easy pass without the extra flash.
He's all business.

Quote: : Well I would agree with that to an extent....mostly because they have the same coach....Sloan uses alot of the same plays for Booz/D-Will that he does for Stock/Malone....can't blame him really....but I see where your going with the comparisons....

I think you should probably give Chris Paul another couple of season and ask that question again.
Special, Special talent though.

Quote: : To me, D-Will is like a young Jason Kidd.
Same build, same mentality.
Stockton was quite a bit smaller than Williams is, so I'd say the comparison there is less correct than the comparison to Kidd.
|
 |
Quote: : An excellent point.
But right now the CP-LeBron comparison is quite a bit different than the Nash-Kobe comparison was.
For starters, Paul is unquestionably a two-way player (something that Nash has never been) and a better scorer than Nash.

Quote: : i wouldnt compare chris paul to jose calderon.
I mena jose is pretty good, but he's no chris paul.
^BostonRichie is the man, thanks for the sig!^
^Props to Mane for the sig^
Quote: : Score one for the Lovechild

Quote: : Truth....I think CP3 and Lebron is a reasonable debate because Paul is a better defender than Lebron when it comes to on the ball one on one defense....but offensively Lebron is on another level when he is on his game....but its hard to compare a those two because Lebron is so much bigger and stronger....
