PhilliesPhans.com View topic - I missed the debate tonight
I didn't see the debate because I was able to score ducats to The Game!
It was electric - 46,000 screaming souls waving white towels over their heads, leading chants of "over - rated" and " CC sucks" and going basically nuts after the heretofore unhittable CC Sabathia walked opposing pitcher Brett Myers.
There were two outs and the weak-hitting Myers flailed pitifully at the first two servings.
Then he crouched down and fouled off something like twelve pitches.
The crowd grew more frenzied as he fouled off each pitch.
Finally Myers draws a walk and the roof blows off the place.
Sabathia's rattled now and walks Jimmy Rollins to load the bases.
Then Shane Victorino lances the boil with a grand slam.
An experience I'll remember to the end of my days.

I'm a diehard Phan, but mainly a lurker here - you guys know far more than I do.
Mostly I blog on political sites.
I scored tix to the game last night and the post above was written immediately after I got home from the game on my political site as the rest of us were discussing Biden/Palin.
I thought I'd post it here just for phun.
I was just jazzed by the phever atmosphere in that second inning - I didn't count the pitches in that at bat - turns out there was only nine - but up in the cheapies we were all caught up in the moment.
We were trying to will that walk to Myers and we succeeded!
It was cool this morning to read Bob Ford in the Inky recount the Myers at bat as "the stuff of lore".

Ford's original story online last night said that the legend would grow someday and would say that Myers 'even scored a run'.
I guess somebody pointed out that Myers did score a run so it was changed to 'hit a home run'.

I thought the phillies fan was supposed to be knowledgable about the game.
Sabathia--"over rated"?
Phew, that doesn't make them look too smart.
In fact, i don't even think the stinkin' mets fans would be that way.
