Out From Animals Community View topic - Jersey

As some of you will already know we flew to Jersey on Thursday to return Saturday after playing gigs on both Thursday and Friday at a venue called Chambers.

We were joined by Pete (andy's dad) and his girlfriend Kelly (tigerlilly).

We spent two incredibly comfortable nights in a hotel called The Mayfair, affectionately dubbed by us as the old peoples home.

The adventure didn't go without its hitches.

However in spite of everything it has to be said I had a great time.

There was a problem with the baggage on the way out.

Nothing got dammaged, lost or broken though, which was a huge relief as I had nightmares about my bass going missing or something shit like that. Thursdays show was fun but I made the schoolboy error of putting my pint on a speaker allong with my camera and halfway through the first song they were no longer where I left them.

The glass was shattered and my camera was sat in a pool of stella.

I had hoped to get a few pictures up here today and there was a number of photo opportunitys, gah but I think andy and sean got some on their mobiles so all was not lost. Sean and i made use of the hotel swimming pool, jaccusi and steam room on friday morning.

We hadn't packed swimming shorts, failed to find any appropriate and affordable attire so resorted to swimming in our boxers.

I scraped my face allong the bottom of the pool and split my lip We met some really cool people and I hope to return someday, the rest is a drunken blur. -Peace out Paul xx

This is all true.

Jersey was nice but expensive.

Then again, seen as it was pretty much free for us i didn't mind!

The beach was gorgeous but windier than a giants bum after a baked bean contest.

Ladies, should you venture that far south, remember your hairspray.

I still don't know why their cows arn't black and white though.

Does anyone??? xxxx

It was good except without a car we were stuck in the little town.

I wanted to go see the caves and shit.

Hi Its Chris here from Banquet - we played before you guys.. T'was a good couple of nights..

I enjoyed your sets..

Hope to see you guys again some time.. Oh the cows here are Jersey cows, they are native to Jersey...

We ship them out to America as well the quite a fancy little cow by all accounts..

So there you go.

Quote: : Hi Its Chris here from Banquet - we played before you guys.. as a native Channel Islander, have you ever challenged anyone with the Clameur de Haro?

Haha, every weekend mate..

Works a treat.

Recognise it? I was at Chambers both nights you played, up at the top with a bunch of mates we even ended up buying your EP. Visited your website shortly after but didn't notice you'd actually made a thread about your visit to our lil' ol Island , was only when when of the friends told me that you were playing at Reading that I decided to see how you'd been getting on and consequently found this thread. It's great to see how you've come along, and hopefully you'll get some photo's the next time you're round here (And I totally pilfered the poster on the Friday, which as you can probably guess is still on my wall )
