Anyone have any tips for US Army boot camp?

Quote: : Anyone have any tips for US Army boot camp?

US army does not have boot camp, and never call it that if you go there.

Boot camp is the the USMC, the US Army calls it Basic Training. The only tip I have is have fun, enjoy all the PT, only makes you stronger, don't take anything personal.

I apologize, I meant BCT.

IET, Basic, Hell...its all the same use boot blousers on bunk sleep on top of the sheets shower in the sink(it saves everyone time) f*ck writing home...masterbate If females...Use vents ...all you gotta do is just stand the right way.

Say the right thing.

Don't ask questions and keep your sh*t clean.

Your first few weeks..possibly months...at you new unit will prolly suck more

Follow directions

Whenever tips are needed its important to go to the experts.

The Starfox Kid. Patriot.

Superhero. Man among men.

Veteran of Guitar Hero III and Close Combat II.

A man who would not be caught dead wearing his underpants on the outside like other ghey superheroes.

A person that George Bush talks to for advice.

That Condi goes to when Hamas is acting up.

That Tony Blair sought confidential solace when the Iraq campaign was being fubared.

Anthony - Patriot - One Man Army Corps or OMAC.

What do you have to say for this fine young man going to Basic Training? There you have it young fellow.

Mark this advice well, sage as it is.

Some may call him fathead, but they do not understand the true wisdom, that is Anthony, aka Starfox Kid.

Blouse you boots well, and know that you blouse them in freedom, liberty and the defence of the republic.

Go to the goarmy.com discussion board and there are always a lot of inquiries about BCT life.

Hear.hear

Lifeinasmallbox pretty much summed it up.

If you're allowed safety pins, use them to tighten the bunk along with the blousing cords and call out the empty bunks so you can sleep on them while your own bunk is nice for inspection. Everything is "yes, Drill Sergeant", "no, Drill Sergeant" or "hooah, Drill Sergeant".

Always act scared when the Drills yell or talk to you to kind of get them off your back.

Go to church on Sundays and try to go to as many services as you can so you can skip out on detail, but that doesn't mean never volunteer for stuff when they need guys.

Don't be an asshole, because if you're an asshole, you're going to get your ass beat. Good luck!

Go to the Jewish services... I've followed Judaism so I had a reason..but you'll get soda and donuts and sh*t

EDIT: double post

Do your best and keep a positive attitude. That's really about all there is to it.

Get rid of your bong, And run 3 miles in at least 20 min without puking your last meal.

Thanks guy's. I hate running, I went running with my recruiter the other day and oh man, 2 miles and up and down a huge hill about 10 times...

I was sore for day's...

I gotta get my running down better.

It's the breathing I have problems with...

The best advice I can give you is to shut your mouth, and LISTEN to your Drill Sergeants.

Their job is to get you trained and shipped to AIT, not screw you over.

When you get told to do something, don't complain, just do what they tell you, and try to follow their example and you will do fine.

Basically be where they tell you, when they tell you, with the gear they tell you to bring.
