GMA-7 to air "Pinoy Idol" in U.S. - iGMA.tv

FremantleMedia grants GMA-7 to air "Pinoy Idol" in U.S. Dinno Erece FremantleMedia has given the right for GMA-7 to telecast Pinoy Idol even in its U.S.

Cable channels. Fremantle is the franchise owner of the Idol show. Wednesday night, March 26, right inside the enclave of GMA Films department sa 7th floor ng GMA Network Center, PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) got news that Pinoy Idol will also be shown in the U.S.

Magpa-pilot ang Pinoy Idol sa GMA this April 4 hosted by Raymond Gutierrez with Jolina Magdangal, Wyngard Tracy, and Ogie Alcasid as judges. With a franchise show, hindi pinapayagan ang franchise holder na maipalabas ang local version of a show outside the country.

Mabilis naming pinakumpirma ito with the GMA people we were with that time. "Ang bilis mo!" sabi ng sumagot sa amin.

"Kanina lang ito na-confirm, nakuha n'yo na." Yes, it is true that Fremantle has given the go signal for GMA Pinoy TV U.S.

Like most Pinoys abroad, I was really so eager and so enthused when I read about Pinoy Idol and yes was eagerly waiting for its airing.

Happy ako that time when I learned it would be shown in Pinoy TV.

So yun nga at napalabas na, for three Saturdays I religiously watched it but to my disappointment and this is my honest opinion magalit na ang magagalit sa opinion ko at wala akong pakialam pero as far as I am concern WALANG KWENTA ang Pinoy Idol.

Those who have watched it probably will understand my point.

This is a FRANCHISE, and when you say FRANCHISE the product that was franchised (in this case it's a TV show/program) must be a true copy or at least identical type of the original, lalo na American programs mahigpit ang mga guideline nila sa franchising nila because they want to make sure the integrity, interests and popularity of their show will be protected.

Like McDonald's, you taste the same McDonal's burgers or products in any McDonald's store you go in this planet.

To think that American Idol is not just the most prestigious and most popular talent search ni this planet but also the most consistent highest rated show in America.

Pinoy Idol? N . It's a total bore and total dud.

I gave it a shot for three weeks but all I got was huge disappointment.

Umasa-asa pa ako at talagang excited pa ako pero kunsumisyon lang pala aabutin ko. Pansin ninyo ang three judges?

Do I need to say anything about them?

Ganito nalang, magtatanong na lang ako, "wala na bang iba?".

Sa dinami-dami ng mga matitinding mga equally or even more competent and really better people in their industry why Jolina?

Why Wyngard? Ogie indeed is competent no doubt about it, he has the credentials but the guy is so boring and could not fully articulate himself when he judges or when he gives his critique!

Sabi ko sa thread nila and I will say it here also, panoorin na lang ninyo yung Eat Bulaga episode weeks ago when they also had a singing competition of the EB hosts and their guest judges were Fritz Infante, Nanette Inventor and that lead male singer in The Company (forgot his name) and those three judges of EB SHOULD BE THE JUDGES THAT THE PRODUCERS OF PINOY IDOL should have taken!

Yung manner of judging nila sa Eat BUlaga ang inaasahan kong klase ng judging ng Pinoy Idol judges sa totoo lang.

ANother issue I have with them, they give their unanimous okay to "undeserving" contestants.

Kahit hindi ako professional singer or composer malinaw naman ang tenga ko at mata ko so alam ko kung nagkakalat ang kumakanta or nagwawala at kung walang kakwenta-kwenta ang delivery niya ng kung ano man ang kinanta niya. Ah ewan, I will just not waste my Saturdays watching that poor copy of American Idol.

I will just hope they do better in their coming episodes.

Babasahin ko nalang mga future posts ninyo about this boring and poorly edited and poorly produced show.

Such a waste of franchise money.

Im a true blue kapuso...so upon learning dat gma got the franchise for idol...sobrang naexcite ako..until nga mag-air na ang pinoy idol...but only to be disappointed...from the auditions parang walang excitement ang pinapalabas...hanggang sa ngayon na napili yung top 24...parang kulang sa energy yung show,,not to mention the look of the set/stage,,,,please understand that we get used in watching american idol and we dont have anything but praises for the show,from the judges to the production and technical aspects...wow!,,,so please sana man lang eh nagka-idea na kayo kung hindi man lang higatan eh kahit paano pantayan lang ang original show...napaka-dry ng flow ng pinoy idol...and its like were watching a "cuter" version of american idol..the stage is a little bit hopeless na hindi mo man lang ata mapagkasya at the same time kahit 12 na contestants...at ang mga audiences kung meron man aside from the contestant's family..wala silang naco-contribute sa show na dapat nga ay high sa energy...sana naman kasi eh pumili kayo ng ibang studio para sa show..i bet that is the same studio kung saan gingawa ang mga talkshows ninyo...and for the director na si louie ignacio...sana bigyan mo ng distinction ang work mo.kasi unang kita ko pa lang alam ko na na ikaw ang direktor...parang walang kinaibahan sa sop at sis yung show...sana pag-igihin mo pa yung mga shots mo.bigyan ng twists tsaka effect yung galaw ng camera at isabay sa flow ng music..just like in american idol...kasi most of the time eh naka-stand by lang ang kuha...tapos yung pagco-comment ng mga judges parang bitin,,hindi extensive...sana nman pag-isipan nyo itong comment ko kasi lahat ng mga kaibigan ko disappointed kmi sa outcome ng pinoy idol..nawalan ng prestege yung show dahil sa kapalpakan.,,parang tinipid yung production,,im sorry to say this pero talo kayo ng kabilang station when it comes to set and concept designing...yung sis nga oa sa pagka-colorfull...kulang nalang mga payaso...parang childrens party ang dating,,,natatalbugan na yung mga artista.so please experiment or better yet hire new people...kasi kung magpapatuloy ang ganito...parang sinayang nyo yung popularity ng idol...i didnt even bother to watch last night episode.nakakawala ng gana,,,yun lang,,hope makakita kmi ng pagbabago sa show...para mabalik ang interes nmin...salamat po...

Pwede ba tanggalin nyo na to and replace it with MAGDUSA KA, for sure matutuwa pa subscribers nyo !!!

Pinoy Idol is really a big disappointment.

Im disappointed too in the sense that iba na talaga ang mga tao dyan sa pinas.

Hindi marunong magvote ng magaling kumanta.

Dito sa LV, sobrang devoted po ako sa panonood ng pinoy idol to the point na tinatawagan ko ang mga family members ko long distance to vote for this and that.

And it turned out na iba na nga ang nangyari.

Dito po sa abroad marunong na kaming kumilatis kung sino talaga ang nararapat na manalo sa pinoy idol considering na we have the experience.(e.g.

Voting the American Idol) already at kilala talaga namin, (to the point na napipinpoint ko) nga kung sinu dapat manatili. Nakakainis lang...they are making the Idol search a waste.

Masakit mang sabihin pero majority of the pinoys in pinas now ay tumitingin sa panlabas na kaanyuan( tama pa ba ang tagalog ko?).

GMA really and the judges must stress it out that this is a singing competition.

Matigas din ata ulo ng mga ibang kababayan natin,e hindi nakikinig sa judges.

Kawawa din ang mga magagaling nga pero wala namang pera ang family to vote for him or her to the max.

Pagkaisipin po natin na majority sa pinas ay mga mahihirap, at yata ay natipuhan sila ng nakararami ngunit hindi naman kayang bumoto... Dito sa amerika, talagang masasabi naming sila ay one of a kind.

Mas magaling pa nga sila sa ibang finalists ng top twelve sa American Idol. GMA pls listen they are world class talents at nagsisimula na silang sumikat dito at dumarami na ang mga fans mostly in Vegas.

Good morning sa inyo diyan sa Pilipinas.

Months or weeks po yata na last ako nag e-mail sa inyo tungkol sa pagkakaroon ng wild card entry sa Pinoy Idol (nasa pilipinas pa po ako noon) ngunit sa kasamaang palad ay parang malabo na at tila ay nadagdagan pa ang mga magagaling na natanggal.

Ito po ang concern ko, concern ng mga classmates ko dito sa Las Vegas, mga Pinoy dito, maging sa mga Pinoy na kapusong kapuso diyan sa Pilipinas na nag ee mail sa akin (sa Ozamiz city, sa Cagayan de oro city, sa Cebu, sa Bagiuo, sa Navotas, sa Laguna) at maging sa mga Pinoy na nasa ibang bansa tulad ng Israel, Macau, at pati sa Japan: alagaan niyo po at pasikatin si Mr.

Walton Zerrudo, eliminated idol hopeful, top 16 maging si Meryl David.

Nabalitaan po namin dito na ang inisyuhan lang ng kontrata ng GMA at sa point of view ng mga nakararami dito, pati ng mga Amerikano ay compromised singers.

We dont believe this totally since some of them could really stand out like Robby and Penelope.

But please po, marami pa po kayong makukuha mula sa dalawang ito especially Walton.

We are really anticipating for his return in SOP. Pasensya na po sa pang aabala, hindi po kasi namin alam ang e mail address ng Entertainment ng GMA kaya dito po namin naisipang isulat.

Ideklara niyo na lang po siyang bagong discovery ng GMA, at bigyan uli ng contract, regardless na hindi siya nakapasok sa top twelve.

He has overwhelming good voice (very heartfelt, and versatile) at hindi na nangangailangan ng mga kahindik hindik na workshops, and the astounding remaining good looks and charm in television.

Until now nga na nawala na siya sa contest, may classmate ako na Japanese na sabing " Where, Walton now?".

To think na weeks na ang nakalipas pero fresh pa rin sa isipan namin (maging ng mga dayuhan) ang personality ni Walton.

He is really world class and appealing mula sa simula hanggang ngayon (kahit na nawala na siya sa competition).

And he can be a good actor too.

From the way he looks, he stands, and moves on the idol stage, the way he bawls out when someone got eliminated, we could personify an ideal, fresh, newest singer-actor of GMA and for the whole Philippines, and us here to enjoy watch in television.

He has that distinct look (handsome Pinoy features), who you would mistake as a bad boy, an innocent teenager, or a person who can't sing at all.

Kaya nga, based from these things we saw in him we have created a story, worthy of a telenovela, for him and only him with Robby (replacing Jay- R).

We have submitted the summary at the forums already.

This will be way too fun and entertaining to watch, since sa kauna- unahang pagkakataon nagpasikat ang GMA ng mga singer actors at sa kauna unahang pagkakataon din po ay maglalaban ng singing and performing on TV ang dalawang ito (fun to watch too because mag best friends sila in real life, same tragic events na nagyari sa life, and both came from boybands) at males po sila.

At isa pa po, mostly kasi females ang nalilink sa themes like this, so for a change males na naman. For Walton also, (who looks kind of funny, makulit and charmingly comic) we would like to suggest him as pinoy version of Hanamichi Sakuragi of Slam Dunk.

Naku po, you wouldnt believe po, nag hit pa rin ito dito sa abroad kahit ilang taon na itong ginawa.

Bilhin niyo po ang rights ng anime show na ito kasi po maraming nag aabang na pinoy rito, at marami na naman kaming first time (all positive) na maririnig from GMA.

If nakuha niyo po ang rights ng show na ito, kayo po ang KAUNA UNAHANG NETWORK NA NAG ADOPT NG ANIME INTO A TELENOVELA VERSION, first time din na ginawang pinoy ang isang Jdorama, first sports themed telenovela in GMA, and breakthrough performance from a singer actor (Walton Zerrudo).

Why him for the role?

From the time Hanamichi was balded, his attitude, looks, actions, gestures all resemble Walton's, and just about Walton grew up his hair again, he resembled the brawling Hanamichi, bad boy, fierce looking, with those deep black eyebrows.

Plus, Walton has the height, body of a basketball player.

And, oh he played basketball before he joined singing.

Trust us po he will really make us watch po.

From the first time we looked at him, we saw a superstar, big time.

Huwag na po ninyong hayaang mapunta lang siya sa iba.

He is tagged here kasi na male version ni Jennifer Hudson, or si Chris Daughtry (who is bald too).

Pinipirata na po siya, inaabangan ang pagtatapos ng Pinoy Idol at kukunin siya.

Please po malulungkot po kami kung mawawala si Walton sa ere at mapunta sa TFC.

Ayaw po namin iyon. Kaya po nakiki usap po kami sa kaibuturan ng inyong mga puso na huwag nang pakawalan ang isang nasayang na talent.

He is world class po at hindi dapat matulad sa kapalaran ng Pinoy Pop Superstars.

Hniahangaan na po siya sa buong mundo, and they keep on requesting updates on his comeback and online videos.

Huwag niyo pong hayaang masayang po ang sinulat naming ito na pinagtulung- tulungan po namin.
