2008 Beijing Olympic Games Day 14 (22/08/2008) - FSUniverse
Live 50km race walking on at the moment.
A real endurance test and that's just for those of us watching.
|
 |
I've been posting about this elsewhere let me bring you guys up to date!
Diniz and Schawrzer seemed to have had a pre race plan.
They went out together, shared drinks...and were realled in after 25 minutes.
Schwarzer was lifting for about 15 minutes and managed to avoid a warning.
Diniz is now out the back door.
Plenty of paddles being shown, but neither the viewers nor the walkers seem to know who is getting them!
ETA...and now Diniz has regrouped and got himself back on the group.
The Russian favourite is far more technically sound than his female counterpart!
Thank heavens

Nizhegorodov turning the screw now, it's down to seven...with two Australians-Tallent and Rutter (they look great, particularly Rutter), Schwarzer, a Chinese and DIniz (just) sticking with him.
Only 3 hours to go!
10k is 44.39....
Inside WR. The first 5k was well outside Wr, so that is a bit shocking!
21.49 for the second 5k
Bo, the Chinese guy....well, I hate to moan but...I mean c'mon, he's in second, and it's the most BLATANT lifting of the week.
|
 |
Rutter stops for at least 1 minute to tie his shoe Taking a breather?
It's down to 4, Nizhegorodov, The Chinese (BO?) who is still lifting , Schwarzer and Tallent.
Tallent in for another medal...early days, but
In all seriousness, Tallent is the only one who is definitely not lifting.
Nizhegorodov and Schwarzer are cutting it very close.
Bo doesn't even lock his knees
ETA:
Oh Good god, I'm knocking this off....GUESS who just got a paddle after I just wrote the above?Tallent!
|
 |
For anybody interested in the standing in the 50km race walk , Nizhegorodov from Russia is leading a pack of 4 in the medal race.
Aussies will be glad to know Jarrod Tallent is right up there.
Eurosport are now discussing Margaret Thatcher's sleep patterns.

BMX has to be the chavviest sport in the Olympic programme.
|
 |
|
First heat of 110m hurdles in the decathlon and I'm convinced that Sebrle is down because he ditched the white lycra.
|
 |
Shanaze Reade goes down AGAIN in the BMX read.
A few more tumbles and she'll match Joanne Conway's British record.
|

Quote: : BMX has to be the chavviest sport in the Olympic programme.
Which explains why the world champion's from Crewe.
She must think she's back there on a Saturday night and that's why she keeps falling down.

Shots of walkers pouring water on their arses and Eurosport explaining that the buttocks are the most powerful muscle in your body and how important it is to keep them cool.
This is why I am up at 2:30am.

Did you guys notice the Australian guy in BMX has the name Kamakazi?
|
 |
Why on earth is the BMX commentator so very amused that a rider named Graves is nicknamed Gravy?
He's saying it as if it's some amazing fact every.
Single. time. the guy races.

Almost as amusing as the BBC athletics team going on about heat and humidity at the start of 50km walk when the weather report said it was 19C.

JC had the affectionate name....Frosty Bum
Any suggestions for Reade....and as I say that, she goes an wins, and sets the fastest time!
A kin to Joanne Conway pulling of a triple Axel/triple tow at the end of a program to save her frosty bum!

Dirty bum?
|
 |
Quote: : Ahem 12:30am.
I slept from 7 to 11 to be fresh for three hours of wiggly bums!

9 to 12:30 for me for the wiggly bums and jiggly balls.
Some of those walkers have seriously freaky sacs.
