Beirut Gun Battles... - Flight Sim World

I was watching CNN on high-def and they're talking about gun battles between Shiites and Sunnis.. What's up with that? Perhaps our expert, Mohammad, can fill in on this?

Quote: gun battles between Shiites and Sunnis Go figure

Let me know when they're done.

Sounds like a scenario from BF2!! http://www.cnn.com/2008/WORLD/meast/05/08/...llah/index.html BEIRUT, Lebanon (CNN) -- Gunfire broke out in downtown Beirut Thursday after Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah said recent government actions amount to "a declaration of open war." Government loyalists add tires to a burning barricade Thursday outside Beirut, Lebanon. "Just in the past few minutes ...

Things have gotten a lot worse," CNN's Cal Perry reported from downtown Beirut.

The sound of automatic gunfire and rocket-propelled grenades could be heard throughout his live reports.

They are always fighting I don't care if either win or they both massacre eachother.

I am focused on the Brits doing us proud...

Always good to see the self proclaimed religion of peace living up to its name.

Quote: Always good to see the self proclaimed religion of peace living up to its name. Ah, but it's not the actual religion that's the problem, but the way it's interpreted and used as an excuse.

Just look at the Troubles caused in Northern Island (and over in the UK) due to the Catholic and Protestant Christians fighting... This post has been edited by fluff: Yesterday, 01:23 PM

Quote: Let me know when they're done. Anyone care to wager ?

This is nothing new, and have been going on for more than 1000 years now.

What's the big deal? Quote: Always good to see the self proclaimed religion of peace living up to its name. This is getting old.

Really.

^Well this is about Lebanon more than it is about Shiites vs.

Sunnis. The media loves to feast itself on false statements.

Sunnis. The media loves to feast itself on false statements.I suppose your right I was about to correct my post because I realised that it was happening in Lebanon.

However my first post still stands.

Quote: That wasn't about religion completely, it was as much about land then religion. Righto, although the UK and U.S.

Are full of history based on religeous differences, as is Spain.

But these people (no offense to any Arabs or Persians here) have been fighting this crap for centuries and it has really gotten old...and fast.

It does involve the interpretation of the religion, at least it did back when it started.

Some believed that Muhammed's cousin was the heir after his death, and others disagreed.

Nowadays its more focused by territorial claim.

Although religion definitely plays a key role, there are confrentations due to the belief of who owns what and where.

And the terrorist groups don't help the situation one bit.

If you want to fight a country's government and military, I have no problem with that at all, because at least that's a declaration of war, but killing innocent people (not by accident) is just absolutely disgusting. They want to their 70 virgins?

Well I hope when they get up there that they get 70 gay men.

Nobody said anything about those virgins having to be female.

That's God's way of saying (in the word's of Scarface) "You with me, you with the best!" This post has been edited by Knight01: Yesterday, 02:32 PM

You are right... I didn't think about that - can someone tell me if it has to be either male or female?

Quote: Always good to see the self proclaimed religion of peace living up to its name. This says enough about you.

Islam has been a religion that has stood the test of time for thousands of years.

Unfortunately no one has decided to make it peaceful.

As long as they aren't trying to mess with my troops Im ok with these guys duking it out.

Maybe they will learn, or maybe they won't.

Hey every dead guy means one less potential terrorist or trouble maker I have to worry about, so why not? NOTE: Im not saying all Muslims are bad, don't take it that way.

And heres my rhetoric on some of the statements made above- pieterjan456 "This says enough about you."- Look where Salem lives.

Get a clue. n591ua "..You make me proud....You took the time to put it as it is.... YOUR MY HERO "-typical 13 year old response.

If I asked you to exlain the territorial differences that are playing a factor in the chaos in Iraq right now you probably won't even have a clue about what Im talking about...the only people that would know are military or Mohammed or Salem. Salem "I meant this "Always good to see the self proclaimed religion of peace living up to its name." "- hey bud, what else is new?

Let em fight man...maybe they will learn.

Quote: Quote: Always good to see the self proclaimed religion of peace living up to its name. This says enough about you. What do you mean? 2 people have posted a witty little sentence whilst quoting this post but won't explain their reasons for doing so.

If you don't agree with what I said then say so, you should learn to attack what I said not who I am.

In fact this is principal that created the freedoms many of our nations enjoy, instead of living in one of the many countries in the world where saying things that others don't agree with will result in violence or at best the threat of violence. This post has been edited by Max.: Today, 05:10 AM
