NFL Forum :: - DESEAN JACKSON
So,,,
i am pretty sure MOST of you guys said "desean jackson too small....
Wont cut it in the NFL." I along with a couple others in here told everyone this guy will be a playmaker." I am not trying to toot my own horn or anything but I am just saying I really think we could have used this guy..
I really dont see him being similiar to williamson at all.
Its the 3rd quarter and the guy has like 100yrds recieving and 100yrds returning..
This guy is a baller
I know its only 1 game but watching this guy play I just know he is for real..
Philly got a steal..
Thoughts????

Wait until he plays a real defense.

I got about 8 pages of crap from people because I wanted us to draft him in the second round.
Do you know how happy this makes me

I thought it might not be a bad idea to draft him in the second round, I think I made a mock draft with it.
He is really small though, no need to get excited, he could get crushed in the NFL.
He does seem like a beast slot receiver.

I was one of the few people in here who wanted us to draft Jackson.
I thought he would be a great compliment to Sidney Rice.
Once we traded for Bernard Berrian I got off the Jackson bandwagon though.
He should be a great weapon for McNabb in Philadelphia.

One thing about Jackson so far is that he has been amazing in the preseason as well (and I know it is only preseason).
Having so much success in the preseason and then continuing that success to the regular season is a good sign.
I am not crowing him yet, but he is already showing what I thought he could bring to the team.
A great returner and a WR with potential for some great plays.

It was against...
The Rams!
[/thread]
1 game, an impact player makes not.
Adrian Peterson Stats:
48 Rushes 263 Yards (1st NFL) 1 TD 5.48 YPC
5 Catches 31 Yards 6.2 YPC

I'm not saying he won't be good but really?
It was the rams.
Sig by me!

I watched this game and DeSean played well, but I do think sentiment should be tempered by the lack of defense displayed by St.
Louis. I lived in Berkeley last season, watched a lot of Cal and, specifically, Jackson.
He was amazing in stretches and completely disappeared during other stretches.
Leading up to last year's draft, I vacillated a little bit as to whether he'd be worth our second round selection.
The jury is still out after today.
He showed explosiveness and I think people are gravely mistaken to immediately dismiss him, but St.
Louis really did look awful and the Eagles' receivers had nothing but separation all day long.
People are also going to be deifying McNabb after today.
However, it should be noted that, while he looked good for the most part, he also threw some awful passes into the ground.
Some of these passes came after showing great hesitance to run when there was a lot of room and most of them came with receivers so wide open, you'd think it was just a practice.
Conclusion?
It's too early to get too high on DeSean or Donovan yet.
But they did look to have some chemistry and I don't think DeSean will be a total bust at the very least.

I was a huge fan of Jackson.
I wanted us to get him in the 2nd round but Tyrell looks like he was the right pick.

Exactly.
I don't even see an argument to say we should have taken Jackson.
Tyrell was clearly the better pick, and had we not picked him, we would have Frampton starting at safety and a logjam at wide receiver.
I am extremely happy we took Johnson.
