NFL Forum :: - The Actual 2009 Draft (EDITED THRICE)
The order is pretty random with most bad teams and good teams in the right spots and then some surprises as well.
Now I would like some criticism but don't just say give us "him not him" because you like them better try to put some reasoning behind it.
I Don't claim to know everything I just do...
Just kidding but I will listen.
Thanks.
1. Baltimore- Michael Crabtree WR- Most would say this is to high for a receiver not to mention a system receiver and I am one of them but if he is the second coming of Larry Fitz they cant pass on him.
2.
Kansas City- Matt Stafford QB- Not the highest rated QB on my board but he is on most everyone elses so even though this is a mock draft Im trying to be as realistic and not just base it on my rankings so he gets the nod.
3.
San Francisco- Michael Johnson OLB- If they are this bad again they should fold.
Put him next to Patrick and you have a nice combo.
4.
Miami- Chris Wells RB- If they are here then Ronnie couldnt make it back.
5.
Oakland- Michael Oher OT- Some one has to protect and block for all that money.
6.
Detroit- Andre Smith OT- Hes really good.
7.
Atlanta- William Moore Safety- He can play either safety and hits like a truck.
8.
Chicago- Josh Freeman QB- Chi-town gets the best QB on my board.
9.
St. Louis- Rey Maualuga ILB- They need all the defense they can get.
10.
NY Jets- Tyson Jackson DE- I dont really know but he fits.
11.
Arizona- Malcolm Jenkins CB- He is worth a top 10.
Some may say Davis is top corner so sue me.
12.
Philadelphia (from Carolina) Alex Boone OT- Get them some help on the line they dont need much.
13.
Buffalo- Fili Moala DT- They need a little help on the line.
14.
Denver- Taylor Mays SS- Still unproven but people love a workout warrior and they need a safety.
15.
Houston- George Selvie DE- I dont know how he slide this far.
16.
New Orleans- Vontae Davis CB- No need for words.
17.
Tennessee- Percy Harvin WR- Speed wide receiver with good moves I would give them a big receiver if there was one.
18.
Philadelphia- Myron Rolle SS- They need some youth in the secondary.
19.
Tampa Bay- Jeremy Maclin WR- He'll replace Joey.
20.
Green Bay- Knowshon Moreno RB- People love this guy so here he is.
21.
Washington- Brian Cushing OLB-
22.
Cleveland- Greg Hardy OLB- Good player opposite of Kam.
23.
Pittsburgh- Duke Robinson OG- That could work.
24.
Minnesota- Darius Heyward Bey WR- More weapons cant hurt.
25.
Jacksonville-Jeff Owens DT- Replacement
26.
NY Giants- James Laurinaitis LB- He can't fall much further so they take the best
27.
Indianapolis - Brian Robiskie WR- Top senior reciever and hard worker good fit.
28.
Cincinnati - Brandon Spikes ILB- The presence they need inside and he's a monster.
29.
Seattle - Al Woods DT- They can't let him fall any more and he'll help the run.
30.
New England - Mike Mickens CB- They need a new one or two.
31.
Dallas - Nic Harris Safety- He can play either spot and he can hit.
32.
San Diego - Kenny Britt WR- They can use more weapons I guess

Well, can't agree this is ACTUAL, for the Broncos I'd take Mayes or Laurinaitis, before a WR.
Our needs look to be LB, DT and RB before WR.

Great value for the Pack.
Moreno is a top-15 talent.
|

Rams will definitly get William Moore at their pick.
Ill pass on Rey Mualuga.
Amazing Sig by PatsDynasty21

The eagles need a LT and Alex Boone is not a LT for a pass heavy team like the eagles.
We have no need at linebacker, Omar was one if the best linebackers in the league last year.
No need to get rid of him I think.
Gocong on the other side if one of the best athletes in the entire nfl, he got better with every game and last year was his first time ever playing at linebacker.
Why exactly do we need to improve upon him?
Pretty awful effort on the eagles part.

Bad pick for the Falcons.
Not one of our top needed positions.
Here is a list of our needs in order.
OT
NT
OG
SS
WLB
TE
We are a Cover-2 scheme which is heavily built around safety's more than CB's .
Also we have so many young talented CB's on the rostor right now.
Chris Houston - 2nd rnd pick in 07
Chevis Jackson - 3rd rnd pick in 08 and perfect cover-2 CB
David Irons - talented CB we grabbed in 07 in draft.
Von Hutchins - Picked him up in FA from houston.
Wilrey Fotenot - 7th rnd pick this year.
4 yr starter along side cason at asu
Brent Grimes <--- Will probably beat out all of them for #1 CB spot dude started in last few games last year and played very well.
Our DB coach is extremly high on him.
So as you can see we have more than enough talent at CB thats young.
So it is not a need for us.
There i would go with possibly william moore for SS to replace milloy after next year.
Or Al Woods if he becomes the dominate NT everyone thinks he will be.
Would also look out for other OT's or OG's that might become top 10 worthy like maybe a duke robinson or boone.

Ummm I'm sorry but that' cant be the actual 2009 draft.
There is no NFC South team in a playoff pick...
|
 |
Quote: : 29. Seattle - Brandon Pettigrew TE- Did they take one last year?
He is the best.
Yes we did.
Thus this is a terrible pick.

Record determines draft spot before playoffs.
Playoffs is just one of the tiebreakers (2 teams with same record, playoff team drafts later).
Tampa bay will win the division with a worse record than Green Bay.
So, assuming you need to go 9-7 to miss playoffs in NFC and draft 20th, Tampa Bay would win the South with a 8-8 record.

Quote: : 27. Indianapolis - Eugene Monroe OT- More O line.
I doubt very much that the Colts will draft an O-Lineman before the 3rd round this year.
The only starter on the O-Line I can see not coming back next year is center Jeff Saturday and we drafted 3 centers in this last draft.
Besides that, one of the Colts starting CBs (Kelvin Heydan) is a free agent after this season and the other starter (Marlin Jackson) is a free agent after next year.
That is why I've been suggesting a CB in the first round.
There is little chance that we re-sign both CBs long term.
BPA Cover 2 CB

Bad bucs pick. we can wait a few rounds for a DE.
We have bigger needs.
This might be Joey Galloway's last year and we need to replace him with DHB.
I really think Selvie is overrated.
|
 |
I love seeing the Bengals picking at 28 and the pick is perfect.
Can not complain about a thing.
Great job

|
Moreno is a Buccaneer
|
 |
For SF, Selvie >>>
Johnson.

Alex Boone? We need at LT who can pass block Boone is just a future RT or guard.
Give us Ciron Black there.
Aaron Curry?
For starters we don't need LB.
Gaither had 100+ tackles despite playing out of position, Gocong played better each week and was a huge factor in the run game, and Bradley might be the best out of all them.
I'd say we have our answer at LB we let go of Takeo Spikes and didn't draft one until the 6th round this last draft, at least management thinks so.
And Andy Reid will never draft a linebacker in the first round.
We need a safety give us Myron Rolle there.
