NFL Forum :: - Young/Rookie QBs

I'm just thinking out loud here, but I think young QBs will make a splash this season.

I think Tavaris Jackson will choke in Minnesota and I do believe that John David Booty could step in and prove to be a draft day steal.

Also I think Chad Henne will come in over John Beck (I dont even know who their starter now is in Miami) but in any case i believe he can come in and be fantastic.

They won't have a winning season, but they may find their QB of the future.

Leinart Knows there is pressure on him in Arizona.

I think he steps up and has a big season (maybe a 9-7 or 10-6 season) probably just missing the playoffs, but i believe he will put up the numbers everyone thought he would have after coming out of USC.

Vince Young everyone knows can be great.

He's mobile and has a good arm, and proved he can lead this teram (he did take them to the playoffs last year.) Matt Ryan is a question mark as well as Joe Flacco.

I think Joe Flacco will fair better than Matt Ryan only because the Falcons need a QB and I think they will play Matt Ryan too early, and he will fail and get discouraged.

I can't predict if he will bounce back if that happens.

Joe Flacco will probaly get playing time in the middle to late part of the season.

They have Troy Smith they can play ahead of him if they dont feel he's ready.

Troy Smith did have a couple decent games last year.

JaMarcus Russell i think will breakout this year.

He has a couple weapons to work with and i think he can break out and lead this team for years to come.

Aaron Rogers to me is a question mark.

I think he's either a sink or swim kind of player.

He's played behind favre for a couple years so he did learn from one of the games Greatest players.

Matt Moore for the Panthers could be another sleeper.

If Delhomme goes down again, Carolina i think will be comfortable with starting Matt Moore.

However he wont play unless Delhomme is bad comin off surgury (which doesnt look like the case) or if he gets hurt again.

One QB I didn't mention is Brian Brohm.

This is because I don't believe he'll get much playing time in Green Bay.

Unless Aaron Rogers is incredibly awful (which i dont know if he will be.

He's no Brett Favre but i think he can coast through the season).

But unless he is hurt or just awful i dont think Brian Brohm will get much playing time. Thats just my predictions opn what i think could happen this year.

Let me know if i forgot anyone.

But weigh in and let me know what you think about my predictions.

Tarvaris Jackson- Boom Matt Leinart- Bust Jay Cutler- Boom John David Booty- Bust Vince Young- Boom Matt Ryan- Meh Joe Flacco- Boom Chad Henne- Meh JaMarcus Russell- semi-boom?

Ah i forgot jay cutler.

Hmmmm i think he'll be ok.

An average season.

Nothing to stand in awe about

Quote: : I think Tavaris Jackson will choke in Minnesota and I do believe that John David Booty could step in and prove to be a draft day steal. Why do people keep on talking about Booty starting this year?

The Vikings signed Gus Frerotte for a reason.

Booty still has to beat of Brooks Bollinger for the #3 spot.

I wish Moore was still Romo's backup. This amazing sig was made by -Hope- YES WE CAN Quote: : Tennessee is going to the AFC Title game.

Quote: : Tarvaris Jackson- Boom Matt Leinart- Bust Jay Cutler- Boom John David Booty- Bust Vince Young- Boom Matt Ryan- Meh Joe Flacco- Boom Chad Henne- Meh JaMarcus Russell- semi-boom? That looks about right to me. I don't either of the USC QBs will amount to much in the NFL.

Vince Young will always have the media on his side so even if he never develops as a passer he will receive a fair amount of praise.

It's too early to tell about Ryan, Flaaco, Henne and Quinn (don't forget him!).

It's too early for Russell too but I felt he was seriously over-rated coming out of LSU so I'm sticking with bust until I see differently.

Jackson makes way too many mistakes...they have to stop. I think Flacco could be successful...That guy has a huge arm that will get him by somewhat early on.

In his rookie year he was basically the media's darling, but this year, everyone's ripping him to shreds. Oh, and I forgot about Quinn.

IMO he'll replace DA as the starter sometime this year.

First off, please don't take offense to this I am trying to help you.

But Paragraphs are your friend.

Pressing enter every 5-6 sentences, wouldn't be a bad idea . Now to the real topic, I like Aaron Rodgers despite being a Tedford child. I am a Flacco and T-jack fan. The biggest problem with Tavars is his posture and footing to me.

When that breaks down so do his throws.

Now when he keeps it all together, you see the real potential in him. Jason Campbell should probably be included, and the West Coast offense will help him out tremendously.

[Quote: ="ttrraavviiss"]Jackson makes way too many mistakes...they have to stop. Quote: ] How many decent QBs didn't have this exact same problem as first year starters?

Colorado St. QB Caleb Hanie, currently a FA rookie with the Bears.

Strong arm, durable, big.

Bears won't use or coach him.

Why do so many people leave out Matt Moore(i do have to give props to SLCDallasFan though). I mean he has proved way more then any rook has so far and look who he played: Seahawks, Cowboys, and Bucs and he went 2-1 he did pretty good when he was playing but he always get snubed yet he is the future of the Panthers.

Who woulda thought that a denver fan wouldnt like jamarcus.

But its ok, monday night in oakland we'll find out just what we should expect from him this year.

Man i can't wait...

Forgot about Kellen Clemens. R.I.P.
