Smoked by stock 08'ChevyCobalt SS Turbo - EvoXForums.com - Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X Forums

How is that possible? With all my mods and no tuning...

Stock i should be able to eat him for breakfast!

On the other hand could be that he have done something to it allready.

Anyway i kept an eye on my boost gauge and it seemed like it fell down from 23-25 to 15psi and climbed slowly back up to 20psi.

Wish i videotaped it..

But we were head to head the first 3/4 of the way but the last 1/4 he got me by almost 3 lengths.

Kinda figured out that our wastegates are living their own life when you get close to pushing the envelope, but there is no consistency in it...

I guess a turbo upgrade kit will eliminate that and take care of that Cobalt SS. Could be a weight issue?

Our cars are pretty fat assed compared to those cobalts... AAAARRGGHHHH i couldnt belive my eyes....

I LOST TO A CHEVY COBALT!!!

That sucks. But the cobolt could of had a ecu flassh or a turbo upgrade

Boost controller and tune will net the highest hp, you wont get the full power out of your mods till after you get a tune for it.

Im assuming it was from a roll?

What are the specs on a cobalt ss?

I had a cobalt ss supercharged and it was 205 hp stock.

The new 08 turbo cobalt are 260 hp.

Its defendtly because of the weight.

They are pretty light cars compared to our evo X

Was it from roll ?

Because head to head ffrom dead stop u can beat him.

But the cobolt could of had a ecu flassh or a turbo upgrade He told me he had 260hp, and that's stock...

After my knowledge.

I found some specs on edmunds.com that could shed some light... Chevy Cobalt SS: Curb Weight: 2975 lbs. Gross Weight: 3918 lbs. Base Number of Cylinders: 4 Base Engine Size: 2 liters Base Engine Type: Inline 4 Horsepower: 260 hp Max Horsepower: 5300 rpm Torque: 260 ft-lbs. Max Torque: 2000 rpm Drive Type: FWD Mitsubishi Evolution X: Curb Weight: 3517 lbs. Gross Weight: 4542 lbs. Base Number of Cylinders: 4 Base Engine Size: 2 liters Base Engine Type: Inline 4 Horsepower: 291 hp Max Horsepower: 6500 rpm Torque: 300 ft-lbs. Max Torque: 4000 rpm Drive Type: AWD

It was from a roll...

5-10mph

Wow. I am surprised its because of weight of car

This should never happen.

Stock vs Stock from what Ive read a GSR is almost a full second faster to 60 and the 1/4 mile in every review than a stock Cobalt and thats taking the slowest GSR times.

Cobalt barely breakes the 6 sec to 60 mark from what Ive read.

You should be in the High 4s to low 5s to 60.

I dont care if it was from a roll or not.

Your maybe need to go in for a check up.

Thats pretty embarassing.

If it happens to me my GSR will be up for sale the next day.

Fast car doesn't mean the driver is fast
