Honda JDM CBR Forums - Bike security at home

Hey Guys, This morning i woke up to find the side gate to my house was left open, i mowed the grass on sunday and was sure i closed it when i was done, left for work and see my neighbour standing on his driveway, last night his jetski got stolen out of his backyard This has freaked me out as they very well could have taken anything out of our backyard(not that there is much there just a lawn mower) but it seems they just went looking from house to house shopping for something to take. Anyway my bike is securly locked up in the garage but wanted to know if you guys have any other security for your rides?

Im thinking of getting a big fuck off hook and dyna bolt it to the ground with a big fuckoff chain and lock. are there any products you guys can reccomend?

I was just thinking of going to bunnings Post count +1

Shit mate thats not good at all, just out of interest what area was this? I strap my ciblet in with 3 big fk me off locks and a disk lock everynight, you just cant be to safe these days. Anything is better than nothing and at the end of the day if someone wants something they are going to get it no matter what all you can do is try slow the process down! Glad to hear wasnt your bike mate! X2 CBR 250RR 98 RG250F "85" X2 49CC ROCKETS ATOMIK THUMPSTER 125CC

Shite, they stole a jetski!

They musta been hooked up ready to steal something big and what a nerve..

During the night when it's quieter and most likely to hear! Not good.

As for locks.. I'm in the same department need to look and get something decent.

Hidden CCTV is your friend and get a bike cover

Hmmm that sucks man, I keep my bike on the front porch with only a stand holding it up, you could walk it down the road. I should really do something too i think.

I use a heavy duty plastic coated steel wire (the kind you see at construction sites) and a Master Lock I picked up from Bunning and chain the bike to the foundations of my house.

I also use a disk lock, and have a wirless alarm in my Garage. Never had a problem in my area as far as im aware, but can never be too careful.

My mates say this is overkill seeing that the bike is insured, but there is nothing worse than knowing someone has been through your stuff and having to go out and find another bike. You might want to think about locking your gate too.

There is a good chance if they have seen your bike, they might come back for it later.

Even some automatic light sensors on this part of your house might help deter them from coming up your driveway at night.

Another though if i had the room i would get me a big ass dog! Something that will rip your arm off! X2 CBR 250RR 98 RG250F "85" X2 49CC ROCKETS ATOMIK THUMPSTER 125CC

One of these will do you well.

Cheap and effective.

Combine with a good security chain. I just bought one. http://www.msgbikegear.co.uk/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=2&products_id=35

I'm still waiting to get the security needed to stop thieves.

I was thinking a nice little kitti.

It should provide the perfect protection, especially when I add her friends the German Shepard x2 if I'm aloud. As for now, disc lock, U-lock and no petrol should do the trick.

I park mine in my room!

Its a large double garage so plently of room!

HA

I have cctv camera at home, runs inside to my telly and connects into dvd recorder and can record to the hard drive for 17days straight. You never know what people wear these days when trying to flog something and the camera works great at night! Always good to see when the fken next door neighbours cat trys to get on my bike...
