Tow Hook? - Cobalt SS Network
Ok, i know im going to get flamed for this, because its probably considered "ricer" but i was wondering about possibly getting MRZ to make a tow hook for our cars.
Not really an everyday useful item, but i know it gives a "race inspired" look, plus it's help out the towtruck operators when they come to take away our lowered balts lol.
What do you guys think?
Ask MRZ? or is this just too gay?
Ok, guys, i'm going to make a list of people that want in, if you're interested, please be serious, when i feel the list is big enough, i'll send this to MRZ.

15.

16. red2006SS

Tow hooks are for ricers whos car break down 99% of the time.
I doubt MRZ would make them.
Not many members here would buy them either.
Just my .02

I figured there would be some people that say it's ricer, but thats just opinion.
I know that cobalts must be flat-bed towed, and im sure this would help with that.
i was thinking i'd get a two piece set up, so i could throw it on when i go to the track, or car shows and what-not.
this is kind of a feeler thread, so please everyone share your opinion.

Bump from the dead for more opinions.
try to keep the flaming to a minimum guys, i don't want to report my own thread.
wow, 116 views, 4 post's?

It serves a function for lowered cars.
That means it's not rice.
And why must cobalts be flat-bedded?

Only if the e break is set do they have to be on a flat bed, the rear wheels spin freely.
Here in germany tow hooks are mandatory on all vehicles though for good reason.
It beats the hell out of paying for a tow truck.

Mines too low, that's why, haha
and because of the way the front bumper sits, the tow driver couldn't support it without crushing my fascia.

Hell the MS3, BMW's and others come with these from the factory...I have no idea why Chevy dropped the ball on this one.
I too think someone should make these for our car.
|
 |
I would get one if it could be removed easily for DD.
Im too low to even fit my low profile jack under haha

Ok, gotcha, maybe it's just cuz i was low.
I took my e-brake off.
I've heard though that the cobalt is recommended to be flat bedded anyway.

I personaly would not need these on my car but if u think it would be usefull go for it or just custom make them they dont look like it would be that hard to make unless u want that shiny look then just buy them i guess

Im too low to even fit my low profile jack under haha i have to use my spare jac, to get the lowpro one under too, haha
i want a two-piece that i can quick disconnect, or just leave on all the time.

I have to drive up onto 2x10 slabs of wood to be able to get the jack to fit under my car.

We all have different taste.

Thats the recommended towing method.

Thats only if the car is backed in to a parking spot, you shouldn't tow with the front wheels rolling, to much wear and tear on the tranny, and axles.

Haha, i can't get into my driveway anymore, no big loss, but it makes using the garage difficult.

Haha, it was towed when i popped the transmission, no rear tow for me.
