OK, Let's compare Sarah to Biden. He is the other VP not Obama. Here's Joe Biden. - CARM.ORG - Christian Discussion Forums

All I hear is Obama vs.

Sarah. Let's do Sarah vs Biden.

Afterall, he IS the one running against her not Obama as most of you seem to want to compare her to Barack rather then Biden.

I can see why. Well let's see the gaffes of Biden, since you all say Sarah says "ditzy" statements.

Biden wrote the book guys.

H rs Joey! Hear What Joe Biden is Saying Now about Obama …” first mainstream African-American who is articulate …” Quote: : Joe Biden … open mouth and insert foot again.

Are you kidding? There is a term for someone who makes these types of comments.

What do you think the Main Stream Media would be saying if a Republican made the following statements?

Granted, I think that both Barak Obamaand John Edwards are political novices that have never done anything to make them presidential material;

However, Joseph Biden’s comments toward Obama are unbelievable.Mr.

Biden is equally skeptical-albeit in a slightly more backhanded way-about Mr.

Obama. “I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy,” he said.

“I mean, that’s a storybook, man.” (New York Observer) Hear its for yourself … Audio Here. Oh this is priceless.

A few weeks ago when being interviewed by Katie Couric he said that Franklin Roosevelt during the 1929 crash he(Roosevelt) went right on Television and told the country what was happening.

Yup, he didn't cross his mind that TVs were not around in 1929.

Yes, he just blatanly lied about him being on TV and he is so "ditzy" he didn't even realize we didn't have access to TVs.

Only radio was the main media back then.

Of course details aren't important to him.

If Sarah Palin said such an idiotic statement as that it would've been front page news for days.

Well, I will let you all digest this and I'll give ya some more absolute gaffes from Mr.

Great debater. Oh I love it!

Not to mention my sig line. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KUdQ5OjGXL0&NR=1

Oh this is GREAT.

Los Angeles Times had this to day about Biden. Archive for Sunday, February 04, 2007 Joe Biden’s just a barrel of gaffes By Jonathan Chait February 04, 2007 in print edition M-4 DELAWARE Sen.

Joe Biden has been telling people for months that he’s going to run for president, as if nobody could actually believe it.

Even when he formally announced last week, I still didn’t believe it.

In fact, I’m not quite sure what it would take to make me believe it.

If I turned on the television and watched Biden formally accepting the nomination at the Democratic National Convention, I might believe it then.

(On the other hand, I’d probably figure I was suffering some hallucinatory episode and check myself into a hospital.) I’m not saying Biden shouldn’t be president.

I have tons of respect for him, and I think he’d do a terrific job if he could get it.

I just find it amusing that he thinks there’s some chance he could actually become president.

It’s a case study of that bizarre mental affliction that strikes so many senators.

They see younger, less-experienced Senate colleagues – who are far less esteemed than they are – running for president, and they’re offended.

If the 100 senators were the only ones who could vote, Biden would probably beat Hillary Clinton or Barak Obama.

Unfortunately for Biden, that’s not how it works. Biden’s charming cluelessness was on display in a recent ABC news interview.

The famously verbose senator was asked to state in 25 words or less why Democrats should nominate him.

His response was 45 words.

I suppose that, by Biden’s standards, coming in at just under twice his allotted length counts as a victory of sorts.

Biden then explained why he could win: “If people learn my story, learn my record, I think I can compete.

The question is, can I raise the money?” This is sort of like me saying that I think I can compete for a starting NFL quarterback job, but the question is, can I avoid injuries?

It’s a question, but it’s certainly not the question. In addition to his uncontrollable verbosity, Biden is a gaffe machine.

He ran for president 20 years ago but had to abandon his campaign when it was discovered that he had plagiarized speeches from a British politician, substituting in key details to make the story his own. In his latest effort, Biden wasted no time subverting his already microscopic chances.

On the day of his announcement, he mused about Illinois Sen.

Obama: “I mean, you got the first mainstream African American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy.” In Biden’s defense, the Quote: was widely misunderstood.

Having listened to it, it’s obvious that Biden was not saying Obama is the first mainstream African American candidate who is also articulate and so on.

He was saying he’s the first mainstream candidate – meaning ideologically mainstream, unlike Carol Moseley Braun, Al Sharpton or Jesse Jackson – and that he’s articulate and so on.

He wasn’t calling Jackson or the others inarticulate.

To be sure, this is still a pretty cringe-inducing way for white people to talk about African Americans.

There’s a famous Chris Rock routine in which he complains about how people describe Colin Powell as “articulate,” as if it were a surprise that a secretary of State can speak well. And, of course, last summer Biden attempted to endear himself to an Indian American supporter by telling him that in Delaware, “you cannot go to a 7-Eleven or a Dunkin’ Donuts unless you have a slight Indian accent.” Not only was this an offensive line, it didn’t even make any sense: The observation, familiar to anybody who watched a comedian on cable television 15 years ago, is that Indian Americans are the only ones who work in convenience stores, not that they’re the only ones who shop there.

The man can’t even keep his condescending cliches straight.

Good stuff, but I doubt the lefties are willing to be intellectually honest, even with themselves. They aren't looking for the whole picture, they're just looking for a mirage, that will allow them to see what they WANT to see.

How many ditzy statements has Biden made in his 80-plus interviews since being named running mate? How many ditzy statements has Palin made in her 2-ish interviews?

It's pretty funny that Biden has said some of the most ridiculous statements and gaffes that they called him the gaffe machine.

This is so cool. No wonder they were all comparing her to Obama.

They didn't want to have us actually look into his personal "dumb statements" really he make Sarah look really really ready.

As to him? No way.

Quote: : How many ditzy statements has Biden made in his 80-plus interviews since being named running mate? How many ditzy statements has Palin made in her 2-ish interviews? Give it up Brach.

I am not worried at all about the debate now.

Not after reading about Biden.

This is great.

You're on the money man!!

Point well-made. -Mel-

Biden's gaffes are legendary and Lynn Edwards has a link to a video here that shows Biden asking a paraplegic "to stand up to be recognized" at a campaign rally.

His last big time error was also with Katie Couric and Biden sounded as clueless as ever.

Biden said: "When the stock market crashed, Franklin D.

Roosevelt got on the television and didn’t just talk about the, you know, the princes of greed.

He said, ‘Look, here’s what happened.'" That's not quite how it went as it was Herbert Hoover was president when the market crashed in 1929 people got their news from the radio in those days, not the television.

Who will blow it - Sarah Palin or Joe Biden?

Biden is called the "gaffe machine" and you people are criticizing Sarah.

First look at your VP selection.

Poor judgment on Obama's part.

Obama Replacing Biden: A Rumor Gone Wild Source:Gather smart stuff;| The Internet's political blogs are filled with speculation that Democratic Presidential nominee Barack Obama is soon going to replace vice presidential running mate Joe Biden with Senator Hillary Clinton.

Biden, the rumors go, will drop out of the race for health reasons, opening up the possibility of what many Democrats have labeled a dream ticket: Obama - Clinton. The reason: Biden is becoming too much of a joke, and a liability, on the campaign trail.

Since his selection, Biden has provided critics with lots of juicy material.

His gaffes have become almost comical, and are happening with startling regularity. Here's a quick recap of some of Biden's most notable screw ups.

He called for a state senator at a campaign rally to stand up and be recognized, not realizing the man he was referring to was in a wheelchair.

He demonstrated his ability to quickly recover, though, by saying, "God love ya, what am I talking about." He then called on the rest of the audience to "stand up for Chuck." He said not too long ago that Hillary Clinton was eminently qualified to be president or vice president, and would probably have been a better pick than he was.

He got a bit of history wrong when he talked about how President Roosevelt discussed the stock market crash on television in 1929 (it was then pointed out that Roosevelt was not president in 1929 and that there was no television as of that date). He called an Obama - Biden campaign ad "terrible" during an interview.

He opposed the bailout of AIG before Obama took a stance on the issue.

That gaffe prompted Obama to say that Biden had spoken too soon.

He has contradicted Obama on support for coal plants in the United States.

And my personal favorite: Biden called his wife gorgeous (nothing wrong with that) but then said she had a doctorate degree, which was a problem.

What exactly did he mean by that? So, as Joe Biden's mouth continues to get him in trouble, the rumor mill has started to work overtime.

Dropping out for health reasons seems plausible enough.

Biden has a history of brain aneurysms and that could be cited as a reason for his departure.

But does this rumor have any merit?

Is it really possible? I don't think so, and here's why.

First, a shakeup on the ticket now would open Obama up to charges that he didn't properly vet Biden.

In reality, Biden is a known entity.

He's been in Washington for 36 years and Obama knew just what he was getting.

Second, replacing Biden could make Obama look indecisive, which is not exactly the image a presidential candidate wants to portray to the voting public.

And third, absentee and mail-in ballots have already gone out in some states, and those ballots say Obama - Biden.

Changing the ticket now could open up the possibility of legal challenges based on those ballots. So, in the end, I think this rumor is just that: unfounded speculation based on a desire to see Hillary included on the ticket.

Rofl...this is really the worst you have on Biden?

That he misspoke a few times?

Who will blow it - Sarah Palin or Joe Biden?

My money's on Palin. Biden's made a lot of gaffes, but he's been around a lot of decades.

Palin's been around less than a month and she's already an embarrassment -- and that's in pre-taped interviews (and apparently CBS has some footage that's even more embarrassing than what they've already aired). Calculating gaffes per exposure, I'd say Biden puts his foot in his mouth maybe 5% of the time at most.

Palin's still batting a thousand.

Quote: : Biden is called the "gaffe machine" and you people are criticizing Sarah.

First look at your VP selection.

Poor judgment on Obama's part.

Picking a gaffe-prone running mate is a sign of poor judgment? Are you sure you want to go there?

Are you serious? He had the wrong president and he said Roosevelt 1929 got right on the TV and told the country.

If Sarah Palin had said that they would have it plastered all over the world.

Read it again all of them they are comical.

Now I know why everyone was comparing her to Obama because Biden not exactly the smartest kid on the block.

I don't think he's a bad man but he really puts his foot in his mouth quite often. ES, I have never seen such hatred for no reason in my life.

You have to google Sandra Berhardt.

I can't post it here because of her language.

She had a distored scowl and the blatant hatred was so scary.

She called Sarah every kind of word and the people applauded it.

I have to say she is probably the first person that I could punch.

I have never hit anyone and that "dirt ball" said if Sarah Palin show up in New York I'll have my black boys gang rape her.

ES, she was serious.

Why? Because she has different views than her on abortion.

Grrr what is going on?

Anyway my point is if Sarah said anything to deserve that please tell me what.

I am so upset for her.

The hatred and gang rape stuff is really horrible and people clapping.

I am just so shocked.

That's all. Just to remind you of the scum buckets on your side.

Thank you.

Palin is everything the limousine liberals who dominate the MSM are not, and that's why they hate her with such passion.

Quote: : Biden is called the "gaffe machine" and you people are criticizing Sarah.

Poor judgment on Obama's part.

Wow...how much time do you devote to pulling up videos from the net?!? Here's the difference - the Democrats are running with Obama at the front of their ticket.

The press and the people are focused on him which is the way that it should be.

They could care less about Biden. The Republicans on the other hand are running a real joint-ticket.

Without Palin, McCain looses the Republican base.

As a result, the press and a sizable chunk of McCain's very base focus as much attention on Palin...the VP, as they do on McCain. Like it or not Nancy, the Republicans are tag-teaming Obama and he's winning without (and often despite) the help of Biden.

This speaks volumes on the difference in leadership between Obama and McCain.

Well, I think the vicious attacks and going after her family and all of it.

I admit I think it's getting to her.

She is human. She does have leader and executive skills.

She doesn't have to know every single point.

They grilled her on McCain's regulatory issues.

As Bill O'Reilly said that is ridicuous she doesn't need to know every nuance about McCain.

Ask Biden to dissect every movement that Obama has made.

The interviews by Gibson and Couric where absurd.

Esp. Gibson. As to Obama he wouldn't even be interviewed by a conservative until he wanted to take attention away from the RNC he allowed O'Reilly to interview him.

But show me three conservatives in almost two years that Obama allowed to interview.

Maybe I'm missing something, but Sarah has already had three interviews by liberals and as you said she just arrived.

So she's has more guts thant Obama has.

He has to be scripted and surrounded with kool-aid drinking liberals.

Quote: : Picking a gaffe-prone running mate is a sign of poor judgment? Are you sure you want to go there?

Well since they call him the gaffe machine what can I say.

That speaks for itself.

Who cares? Are people's verbal misteps really the criteria you use to decide whether or not someone is a good candidate for Vice President? Quote: : ES, I have never seen such hatred for no reason in my life.

I have. Got a mirror?

The hate you display for Obama is as bad as anything I've seen toward Palin. Quote: : You have to google Sandra Berhardt.

Thank you. Sorry, but they're not on "my side".

That some few maniacs throw out such sentiments are no indictment on most people who disapprove of Palin - just as your irrational insults are no indictment of most people who disapprove of Obama.

CBS and ABC are now the liberal press are they.

Oh wait, I bet NBC and CNN are also owned by the massive liberal media conglomerate.

Or maybe, just maybe, those media outlets are seeking to get to the 'truth' of the matter by asking tough questions (actually, Couric tossed a bunch of soft-balls but that's another story).

And maybe, just maybe, your hours of watching O'Reilly and Limbaugh harp about this 'left-wing media conspiracy' has you brainwashed into believing their hype. I can tell you one thing Nancy, if you spend your days listening to right-wing conspiracy theories, you will end up thinking...well, you'll end up thinking like you do.
