First drag strip visit...holy wheel hop - Dodge Caliber Forums
Here's my best time slip and the top video is the 14.18 run.
My EVIC displayed 14.0 @ 99.7 MPH.
The drag strip I believe runs a .500 as a perfect reaction time, so this would make sense if you subtract the reaction time from the slip.
I guess that would explain the difference but to be honest I have no clue.
The next video showing the gray Ram is a 4x4 Hemi that runs a flat 13.00.
Just the launch shows the huge difference in how much our car sucks at launching.
All runs were done with the ESP off.
Tires were at about 30 psi, and ambient temperature was about 51 degrees F.
I did not WOT shift, just quick stabs of the clutch and up to the next gear.
I would have liked to have done more runs with lower pressure in the front, and high pressure in the rear but did not have the time.
1st gear was nothing but wheelspin and terrible wheel hop.
The track has a ****ty launching area, just laden with rubber.
The traction control never once started flashing or giving me issues.
I confirmed this when leaving by going down the street and I gave it hell in first and was able to keep the tires roasting through second gear.
The ESP never once flashed, came on, or tried to prevent me from doing this.

Wow lots of vids...
You were right about the launching....
That truck took off.
Not bad for a stock run though...
102.4 is pretty nice.

 |
Are you completely stock?
Not that bad of times

Yep, bear in mind it's stock with boost limited to sh!t.
Easy 13 second car with the boost up all the way in every gear.

Looks like you would have had that Pontiac in the last video if you could have launched better as it appeared as if you were rapidly catching back up to it.

Yep he was.
All things considered, he was pretty consistent too.
And he didn't let the 30 ton diesel beat him either hehe.
I friggin hate those things!!!!
They're fast and it's a tough pill to swallow.
Lol
You have to admit.
The car isn't bad at all for being factory crippled.
I can't wait for more boost, higher redline, and drag radials.
Easy mid 13s.
I am going to throw stage one ecu at the car and see how I like that, then if not, screw it, warranty voided and I'm coming to cleveland.
Good job on the vids grease.
Cheers!

Thanks all.
Yes it's bone stock, even down to the air filter.
I didn't remove any items either such as the air pump.
I even had a can of Coke Zero in the cupholder.
That white Cummins ran a 15 flat, and had an SRT badge on the back ghey.

Hey grease, did you care to check how quick the white evo was running?
Curious.
I think I MIGHT know that car.

Didn't get an opportunity to.
Is the one you're thinking off have www.grudge-racing.com or something like that across the top window?
There were some queer looking guys with Cavaliers running in the mid to high 13s.
A lot of people were eying my car, but no one came up and talked to me about it.
