Took Delivery of the Camaro's Older Sibling! - Camaro Forum - 2009 Camaro / 2010 Camaro / New Camaro SS Z28 Forums - Camaro5.com

Took delivery of my dream car, a 2008 Jetstream Blue Z06.

This bad boy as most of you know has the 505 HP LS7.

For those that don't know its a small block all aluminum 427, the modern day version of the vernerable ZL1.

Now I figured I'm covered, even if Chevy can't give me a 500+hp Camaro which I have am sure they ultimately will.

The 400+SS will do fine for the Wife when it arrives in the spring. As a side note, I don't have to hear the jabs anymore about me driving a Nissan Titan

Sorry about no pics....it rained last night when I got it home.

I will post pics today.

The Titan is gone forever.

I took a beating on the trade but at least its 0%

You should know better than to tell us that you got a new corvette, and not give us pics.

Where are those

Pics

I want.

Congratulations, you just ordered the greatest car on earth.

198 mph top speed, goo handling, cheap (for performance) and decent mpg.

Mind sharing with us what the price OTD was for the ZO6, not counting the trade

And the 400+hp SS will do fine for the wife when it arrives in the spring.

The performance of the Z06 is truly fabulous.

My friend Rick has an '07 in atomic orange tintcoat metallic that is a spectacular car.

And you will have the best of both once you get your wife that brand new Camaro SS.

Must be nice to have that kind of money. My favorite car design of all time is the '67 big block Corvette coupe.

All '63 through '67 'vettes (the "mid-years") look terrific.

I just prefer coupes to verts.

And the '67 was the final iteration of the style, with all improvements plus the '67 427 big block had the coolest hoodscoop of all time. I also like the '56 through '62 'vettes, even though they had solid rear axles and the early years were only available with 3-speed manuals or powerglides. The '68 through '72 Corvettes styling is okay: good but not great.

'73 and later not so good.

And a big horsepower drop from '71 on.

So only the '68 through '70 years would be worth having. The current C6 styling is okay: good but not great.

The C6s just aren't as stunning and crisply styled as the '56 through '67 models.

The Z06 is a fabulous performer, but every extra added scoop on the Z06 just clutters its lines.

The new ZR1 is an incredible performer, but the carbon fiber bodyparts are unnecessary and the clear polycarbonate window in the hood reveals the cover over the intercoolers for the supercharger?

If Ferrari has a clear panel over the engine compartment at least you see the actual engine and not some dress-up cover! I don't like the '53 through '55 Corvette styling at all. I don't like the C4 styling at all. I don't like the C5 styling very much, but at least it was better than the C4.

Damn, you could've waiting for the '09 which has new rims and upgraded intereior.

I'm sure he bought an '08 off the lot to take advantage of GM's employee pricing currently in effect.

(Don't know from how many/few colors he even got to choose.) Here are the details: Customers can get employee (GMS) pricing at participating dealers on virtually all remaining 2008 model year GM vehicles in stock.

The only 2009 model year vehicles eligible for employee pricing are the Chevrolet Cobalt and HHR, Pontiac Vibe and G5 and Cadillac CTS. Special stickers will be in vehicle windows at participating dealerships that show the bottom-line price customers will pay, taking into account the employee (GMS) price and all applicable incentives and rebate offers. NOTE: Excludes: 2008 MY medium-duty trucks and most 2009 MY vehicles. Nice pricing on the 'vette, too, according to Chevrolet.com: 2008 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 - 3LZ MSRP: $78,670.00 Employee Price: $67,888.88 <

Your price is the same 2008 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe - 1LT MSRP: $46,950.00 Employee Price: $40,876.50 <

Your price is the same

Absolutely beautiful, awesome car man!

I bet its a blast to drive

Z06's only come in a M6

DAY YUM Be utiful!

I'm so jealous. I wan't a Vette so bad..

But a Z06!!! NOICE I'm gonna need the back seats for a while longer.

But some day I'll get one.

They actually had an 09 on the showroom floor, same color with new wheels, (personally i don't like as much as the 08').

Pretty much the same car, but with bluetooth capabilities and other small improvements.

The problem was this car was about 3k cheaper and we financed at 0%.

If 0% would have been available on the 09, I would have went with it. Thanks to all for the kind remarks.

The universal theme from people that I talk to especially Corvette owners tell me "I am going to have a blast driving that car".

And I have to agree.

One guy who's owned several Corvettes was taken back when I told him this was my first Corvette!

His response was "And you went straight to a Z06!!!" Ha....Go big or go home! Its amazing what 500+ HP in a 3200 lb car can do. Ron
