Another Positive For Big Brown's Trainer
Clenbuterol positive at Churchill Downs added to Dutrow's glowing resume:

That was pretty funny you have to admit the article says "has tested positive for twice the allowable level of clenbuterol that helps burn fat and promote muscle growth" he must have wrote the article too Clenbuterol is a bronchial dialator that opens up a horses airway so they can breathe better burn fat and promote muscle growth??
While Dutrow doesnt administer the drug himself he is held responsible and rightfully so But if he was really twice the legal amount he was obviously set up eveyone knows the lead times for Clenbuterol and nobody could make that kind of mistake Funny that Larry Jones just got a Clenbuterol positive in Delaware His first medication offense in 25 years The two high profile Derby trainers Something is rotten in Denmark

Clenbuterol is also an anabolic steroid.

Ok...Sorry...It isnt used as a steriod...It has trace steriod properties but you would have to administer it 24/7 for 3 months to get the steriodal effect of one shot of Winstrol...Everyone knows the lead times for Clenbuterol its been on the market for years and years and is a completely legal and beneficial drug For him to be double the legal amount on race day it would have had to be administered the day of or the night before the race or just given in such a high dose at the proper time it would be unimaginable With him and Jones both getting hit with positives for the same drug within days of one another is mighty suspicious

I don't understand the conclusion you're drawing comparing the Jones and Dutrow positives.
Dutrow readily admits using the medication on many of his horses while Jones has said he was set up by an unknown person who drugged his horse.

Couldnt agree more.
Idiots covering a story with NO idea about what they write about.
Just like the steroid scandals in baseball, they write about it like hulk Hogan could hop in the batter's box and hit 50 hr's.
They really need to have a sourse like one of us explain to them how and why these drugs get used and what they do so they might actually sound like they have any idea of what they are talking about.

I stated it is an anabolic steroid but that isn't true it acts like one.
From what I've read dosing a horse with it 2 to 3 times a week for about 6 weeks will elicit the muscle building/fat burning properties.
So in addition to the bronchial dialator properties why wouldn't a trainer who uses other steroids administer this to get an added enhancement as a bonus to helping his breathing?
It is often times the perception of the trainer that thinks any given "treatment" is helping.
For goodness sake there are people who still Clorox horses.

Clenbuterol also known in the harness racing world as ventipulmen is a mild steriod, BUT in most cases horsemen and vets use it as a lung builder.
It works wonders on allergies, sickness, and bleeders, it will heal a horses lungs and its also a preventative measure.
It comes in both injectable and oral medication and the oral medication in the harness world holds a 72 hour cut off.
(not sure in the thoroughbred world what the cut off would be)
Now I see some of you are hinting around about how both the top derby trainers have tested positive...because its normally used orally, some trainers will have their grooms administer it, well obviously ooops do happen.
So dont everyone jump to conclusions that both trainers so some criminals, it could have just been an ooops.

Dutrow has a list of "ooops" as long as his arm.
By the way, only the oral syrup is legal in the US.

It's equally inapropriate to call someone a moron if you begin a sentence with "YO"
