"new member" transmission? - AcuraZine Community

Hi, new member here from palm springs,ca i just sold my 2007 chevy cobalt supercharged and purchased this 05 tsx auto and i have this question about the tranny.

When ever i shift from D to P or R it makes a loud noise u can hear a clunk, is it normal because the gears shift really smooth?

Take it into the dealer man Hope your still under warranty

Clunking is never normal

He may be talking about the loud click when shifting into/out of gear or from reverse to drive (and vice versa).

If that's the case, I believe it's normal (mine does it).

Strange. I don't have any loud clicks either. no noise is made at all.

From D to R? Make sure you stop completely ...

Otherwise, on my car, no clunk.

From D to P ... same again, I make sure I've come to a complete stop (sometimes shifting to N for a moment while I set the parking brake), then to P.

Again, with those steps, no loud clunk (or shudder).

Take it back to the dealer. BTW, welcome to the forums!
