Last round the next group of semi-finalists, Group 3, competed for your votes.
The top 3 vote-getters polled in as Elliott Yamin, Blake Lewis, and Jason Castro.
All 3 advanced straight to the finals - the Top 16.

Welcome to the American Idol 1/2/3/4/5/6/7 Male Finalists Competition!
This competition celebrates the talent of all the male finalists from American Idol to date.
You will ultimately crown your favourite American Idol Male Finalist the winner of this competition.
Here's how the competition is going down:
All 40 American Idol Male Finalists have been COMPLETELY RANDOMLY separated into four groups (each with 10 contestants).
Each group will compete separately for your votes.
After your votes, the top 3 vote-getters from each of the four groups will advance to the finals, filling the first 12 places of the Top 16.
The contestants who don't get voted through the first time will be potentially eligible to return for the Wildcard Round, for a second chance to be voted through to the finals.
At the end of the group rounds, you will select which contestants you want to see given a second chance.
In the Wildcard Show, 12 contestants will return, and will compete to take the final 4 spots in the finals.
Once we get to the finals, the finalists will compete a la American Idol, where we loose the lowest vote-getter round-by-round, until we are left we just one - your winner!

The Voting
Simply rank the 10 contestants from your favourites to least favourites.
Give your 1st favourite 10 votes, your 2nd favourite 9 votes, your 3rd favourite 8 votes, and so on, until you give your least favourite only 1 vote.

Each idolforums member may post only 1 set of votes per voting round
Voting will be open for a few days.
On Monday 22nd September 2008 @ idolforums time @ 8am, voting will close.
All the votes will be added up.
The 3 contestants who receive the highest number of votes will move on to the finals - the Top 16.
The other 7 contestants who do not make as one of the top 3 vote-getters, will be potentially eligible to return for the Wildcard Round, where they may be given a second chance to be voted through to the finals.
The results for this voting show will be posted before idolforums time @ 11pm on Monday 22nd September 2008 in a topic entitled "American Idol 1/2/3/4/5/6/7 Male Finalists Competition - Group 4 Results + Vote For Your Wildcards!"
***MAKE SURE TO 'TUNE-IN' FOR THE GROUP 4 RESULTS, WHERE YOU WILL HAVE THE CHANCE TO VOTE FOR WHICH CONTESTANTS SHOULD RETURN FOR THE WILDCARD ROUND***
