Good games that never materialized - SpaceBattles.com

Well, what games had the potential to be good, but became vaporware for various reasons?

These include games that should have been made.

I'll start by posting these two. Starcraft: Ghost Alpha Centauri 2

Halo. BYE

Quote: : Halo. BYE Bitter, party of one, your table is ready.

Warcraft Adventures Duke Nukem Forever (how did this not get mentioned before?)

Quote: : Warcraft Adventures Duke Nukem Forever (how did this not get mentioned before?) I think DNF wasn't mentioned because its become synonymous with this sort of thing, and everyone knows about it already.

Quote: : (how did this not get mentioned before?) Because we're trying to keep this from devolving into one obsessed fanboy's ranting on how it's coming out "eventually." Harpoon 4 (Gritty, realistic) Team Fortress 2

Tiberium I loathed the day they cancelled this game, I wanted so bad to play with GDI more

Few people in the internet flys the GDI symbol proudly and people usually go on about how awesome NOD is.

Crusader 2. I loved those Crusader games! "Early retirement."

Jazz Jackrabbit 3 Freespace 3 Dungeon Keeper 3 Hmmm, lot's of three's oh and Master of Orion 3

Quote: : Freespace 3 2nded.

Freespace was a SUPERB series, there should have been a sequel Since unlike several other game series the sequels to Freespace didnt suck and was quite excellent

The real Fallout 3.

The Equilibrium game.

That would of been awesome.

Dungeon Keeper3 Descent 4 Freespace 3 Warcraft Adventures Team Fortress2 Sin Emergence Van Buren/Fallout 3

The original Halo RTS/RTT.

Amen. Seriously the title of a game.

Quote: : "(Gritty, realistic) Team Fortress 2 What, so that it's like any other online shooter?

The style it has sets it apart from the masses, and it's predecessors weren't gritty or realistic either. It always looks like I'm the only one, but I thought Freespace 2 was a pretty shitty sequel, apart from teh b3aMz!

It was much worse in pretty much every respect compared to it's predecessor, the only really good thing about it is the modability of the engine. Privateer 3: It was ages ago I got all giddy with joywhen I heard it's going to be released, but then it was killed because space sims tended to get less and less popular.

Homeworld 3.

Sim Mars. Zor

I think this particular game might have been interesting to play, though in all fairness it looks like it might have just ended up being a Starcraft clone. That said, I concur with everyone who's said Starcraft: Ghost.

The fact that SC2 is coming out soon leaves me less displeased at SCG's cancellation, though.

Starcraft:Ghost (though it could do with quite a bit of fixing) Freespace 3 Homeworld 3 Descent 4 Mechwarrior 5 (Mechassault doesn't count, since it was effectively a parody of the Mechwarrior series)

Quote: : Commando Amen. Seriously the title of a game.

The full name would have been Amen:The Awakening A very ambitious game from Cavedog for it's time

Quote: : Bitter, party of one, your table is ready.

Hey, I tought it was funny

Fading Suns: Noble Armada.

Dune Generations An MMO that put you at the head of a House, and it's all online, it's sort of an RTS MMO, which makes it infinitely more badass.

It never finished because the company that was making it went out of business...
