It will take nothing less than a miracle for the Red Sox to steal a game with this matchup.

Red Sox lead 3-1 in the bottom of the 2nd, though.

I can't say that I'm optimistic about it holding up, though.

After yesterdays game, the Cubs need a nice win tonight. Since the Milwaukee massacre, the Cubs have taken 2 out of 3 from each series they have played.

Gotta keep that up with a win tonight against the Cards, on ESPN.

Mets got blown out 8-2 today.

Pelfrey sucked, the pen sucked, pretty much everyone sucked.

Quote: : Mets got blown out 8-2 today.

Pelfrey sucked, the pen sucked, pretty much everyone sucked. I love your avatar...

I know you have had it a while, but it just seems to fit with todays game...

And most of the season...

And the White Sox eeked one out today 6-5 over the Red Sox.

Octavio Dotel with a great appearance, coming in during the 7th with the bases loaded, 1 out and a 1 run lead, then getting a double play. Thome, Quentin and Dye each homered for the Sox today, Quentin's was his 32nd of the season.

The Nats and Brewers were tied 1-1 going into the 8th inning.

Washington scored three in the top of the inning thanks to homeruns from Kearns and Milledge, but the bullpen proceeded to give up three in the bottom of the inning, and the game went 13 innings before Gabe Kapler hit a homerun to give Milwaukee the win.

Milledge had three hits to continue the nice run he's been on, and John Lannan gave them another solid start.

God. how disappointing.

The dodgers blew another save for the 2nd consecutive game in a row due to crappy fielding.

Tonight it was blake.

Iirc, we almost blew game 1.

This series couldve really been swept either way.

Man do i ever hate the giants.

I hate dave roberts the most.

Also manny barely missed hitting one out of the park.

He also had a key RBI

Dempster looking sharp through 5.

Cubs up 1-0. Edmonds nearly hit another one out, and robbed Carpenter of a two run single with a nice diving catch.

Quote: : Rays make history by beating Mariners They set a club record with 71st win.

Tampa Bay's previous best record was in 2004 when the Rays won 70. August 11, 2008 SEATTLE -- The Tampa Bay Rays set a franchise record with their 71st win, an 11-3 rout of the Seattle Mariners on Sunday. Tampa Bay's previous best record came in 2004 when the Rays finished the season 70-92.

After winning three of four in Seattle, the Rays are 71-46 and have a 4 1/2 -game lead over the Boston Red Sox in the East Division, their largest advantage since July 6.

(R) Brandon Backe (6-11) Philadelphia Phillies at Los Angeles Dodgers, 10:10 pm (R) Kyle Kendrick (10-5) vs.

(R) Derek Lowe (8-10)

I have no doubt that Beckett will find a way to lose this game by giving up at least 3 HRs, and the Red Sox will find new ways to come up short in key ABs on the road yet again.

Nats lost again today as the Brewers completed the sweep.

Mock had nine strikeouts in his start, but he couldn't get out of the fifth inning.

Zimmerman and Harris had two hits and accounted for the only run of the game for Washington.

John Danks had a no hitter broken up in the 7th and it now 4-1 Red Sox.

(L) Odalis Perez (5-8) St.

Louis Cardinals at Florida Marlins, 7:10 pm (R) Kyle Lohse (13-4) vs.

(R) Chris Volstad (3-2) San Francisco Giants at Houston Astros, 8:05 pm (R) Tim Lincecum (12-3) vs.

(R) Roy Oswalt (9-8) Arizona Diamondbacks at Colorado Rockies, 9:05 pm (L) Randy Johnson (9-8) vs.

(R) Ubaldo Jimenez (8-10) Milwaukee Brewers at San Diego Padres, 10:05 pm (R) Jeff Suppan (7-7) vs.

(R) Cha Seung Baek (4-5) Philadelphia Phillies at Los Angeles Dodgers, 10:10 pm (L) Cole Hamels (9-8) vs.

(L) Clayton Kershaw (2-3)

That was a great first 6 innings and then I went magically blind in my seat. Whatever could have happened? Also, Griffey might be the worst defensive CF in the history of baseball at this stage in his career.

Always nice to have a Rookie.

Knuckleballer. making his MLB.

Debut. against the Best.

Offense. In. The.

League. I'm very optimistic, as you can tell.

You better not be talking trash about a knuckleballer. And at least the game's not in Texas.

Johan vs Odalis? The team will find a way to blow the win in the 9th before losing it in the 11th

Mike Mussina pitching for New York.

Don't like our chances again him.

David Ortiz hit two three-run homeruns in the first inning of the Sox game.

They have a 12-2 lead right now.

Holly craaap, Santana got his 10th win And Feliciano got a save what a world

The Rangers have come back on the Sox and now lead 16-14 in the bottom of the seventh. The Nats lost to the Mets on a hit by pitch in the eighth inning with the bases loaded.

Youkilis hits a three-run homerun to give the Sox a 19-16 lead in the bottom of the eighth.

The Rangers actually added another run in the ninth inning, but ended up losing 19-17.
