PRESS RELEASE: RLEAGUE.COM OUTAGE & LINKS

As you are no doubt aware, rleague.com suffered a lengthy unplanned outage over the last 48 hours.
The outage was caused by the failure of what should have been a routine security upgrade to correct a few recent security vulnerabilities discovered by the various IT security analyst bodies around the world, such as CERT.
The rleague.com team would like to apologise for the outage, particularly leading into the final round of the NRL and Super League seasons.
An unexpected benefit of the corrective action taken is that a number of planned upgrades were implemented ahead of time.
Despite rleague.com's high levels of reliability and performance, improvement can always be made.
As such, these upgrades should see improved performance and reliability for rleague.com.
We'd like to take this opportunity to thank the Support Team at SoftLayer, Inc., our Hosting Provider.
The team worked tirelessly over the last 48 hours to help get rleague.com back online, going above and beyond what their normal service brief is.
It's easy to take the unseen things for granted, so we thought special mention was deserved.
Again, we'd like to apologise to the rleague.com user community for the outage.
We are not lost to the fact that on the Internet you have a choice of where you want to spend your time, so your support and understanding is appreciated.

Had me worried for a couple of minutes fought i would have to go to the effort of finding another time waster for each day

The efforts of the It staff to get our addiction back was fantastic, i was starting to walk up and down the hallway like a blocked in Lemmings..
Great to have it 100% operational once again..

I was about 5 but I guess my number was down as we have a 4 day old baby!!LOL

I sometimes roll some articles over to midnight so each day has some content (looks neater).
On Tuesday I rolled a few articles over to Wednesday.
So I set them up and had the send button for seven articles.
Unfortunately my computer needs a reset every day due to the net connection.
So I had to put them all up again.
Lucky they were in plain text and didn't take too long.
We done 23 articles for the day and I have eight to roll in for tomorrow.
