I'm quite confident that Mr.
Obama will win. Mind you, with the US 2 party system, there is no real democracy anyway.
It's a 50/50 chance.
And Obama is on the TV way more than McCain...and that means an awful lot in the US.
Plus, I think George W.
Did a good job of turning people off of conservative rule for a while.

I believe that the American people are conditioned enough to buy into a political system that works for no one, time after time, and still ask why they are in the condition they are in.

I take that back, it benefits the direct participants of that system (the politicians), of which Barack Obama is making his career.

I believe I will vote for Obama, not because I believe he is a savior, but because I agree with his stances on most issues the most, including a number of 3rd party candidates that I've researched on.
I don't give a rat's ass if dude were Jesus Christ re-incarnate, as long as I think he can get this country started on withdrawal from Iraq (small military presence doesn't bother me.
That's the price I figure), get moving on some green initiatives, and find a way to compete with the current health care system (I don't like mandates), then I am all for it.
Folks need options.
Plus the whole "well, that was the point, wasn't it?" answer on this marijuana usage was very huge with me.

He has changed his tune enough to make it impossible to decipher what he plans to do (unless you look back more than 3 years ago...

Rich people DO pay taxes.
They usually manage to pay at a reduced rate, but the bulk of the federal budet is carried on the backs of the upper 5% income level people.
Rich people invest in businesses, and those investments earn money under the CAPITAL GAINS rules, and are taxed at appx 14% (I forget exactly) rather than the appx 38% maximum "marginal" income tax rate.
Investments that qualify for the capital gains rate are not "sure things"...
They are a slightly lower risk version of the lottery.
(Maybe better compared to "generous" slot machines) While MOST of the time, they come out ahead...

The government decided it was a good idea to allow a greater portion of the rewards to be retained by the investor.
Without capital gains tax rate...
Many "startup" businesses would never have gotten funded and you may actually have never seen a computer.
(it was VERY risky to develop those technologies...
The first Intel 486 chip made cost a few million dollars to make...
The second cost about $5 to make.
If it had failed...
That few million would have been GONE.)
