I do know a business partner of mine who's already switched back to blackberry, because he had "too many contacts" to sort through, and didn't like iphone's way of doing it.

The new Contacts Search is a very good thing--and they way they've done it is perfect: no added complexity.

It's just a field at the top of the list, so it appears at the start but takes up no space when you scroll, and adds no additional button complexity.

Yet you can reach it (like the top of any iPhone list/page) by touching the title bar--or hit the little icon above the A, for people who don't know about the title bar shortcut. I haven't seen anything about the iPod app gaining that kind of search.

I hope it does soon--I'd use it all the time.
