Yes it is possible, if you've got a Wiimote you can try it for yourself.

I've thought you could do a time crisis style shooter using a second Wiimote as the gun.

Here's my idea: The floor is a treadmill the turns as you turn.

When you walk it moves backwards and when you move backwards it moves forwards at the relevant speed.

The room is a circular screen and you wear certain sensors on your body to detect where you are moving and how fast etc...

You carry a weapon and when you shoot, it happens real time is the virtual game. I think it would work.
