They did make a movie using Mark Wahlberg as Max, Mila Kunis as Mona Sax, and Luda as Jim Bravura.
I love the max payne series so I am going to see it regardless.

I want to be excited for this, because it's one of my favorite games ever, but I read an interview with Mark Walberg and it kind of discouraged me from seeing this.
I definitely like Mark as an actor, I love 4 Brothers, and I Heart Huckabees, but sometimes you have to know when to lose yourself in the role, and when to bring your own personality to the role.
He said recently in an interview that he added his own personality to Max in that he added some humor because that's what his fans like to see him doing on screen.
Sometimes it's more about gaining new fans than keeping the one's you already have.
I don't want to sound like I'm overeacting, but Max Payne is not a game with much humor at all.
What I got when I played that game, was witty dialog, a very dark gloomy atmosphere, and a brutal unrelenting story all the way to the top.
The one things my friends and I did find funny about the original max payne was the moaning/groaning noise, and sentences that the crackheads would make/say whenever you shot them.
That shit was hilarious.
