The automatic depth of field tool looks good.

The camera manufacturers will start adding a custom bracketing function using the focus points, either top, middle and bottom or left middle and right, or all.

But can it work in reverse and decrease DOF? hh, the mask panel...that's niiiice!

And improved dodge and burn tools, they look good.

Nice graduated filter tool also.

All I have to do now is buy a new computer :-( -- Pam http://www.pbase.com/pam_r 'art is working on something 'til you like it...then leaving it that way' Coming soon - tutorials, videos, and more: http://www.PhotoshopCreativity.com

I am looking at the video's right now;

I am drooling. I am glad i held off the cs3 creative suite, it seems the creative suite 4 has lots more to offer in this upgrade!

There is not much NOT to like. I hope the rest of the suite has simular upgrades.

There is already a full review at Photography Blog. http://www.photographyblog.com/index.php/weblog/P10/ Enjoy.

Great feutures, althoug ps cs4 might have serious competition concerning retargeting pictures, since onone software bought the liquid resize technology. it might be superior to ps cs4 option.

Will get PS CS4 on order as soon as I can!

For the new features just in Camera RAW.

Pam, how could it work in reverse to decrease depth of field?

Do you mean processing a photo shot at f32 and making it look like it was shot at f1.8?

I don't know how it'd be able to map that, except possibly if 2 or 3 shots were taken from slightly different vantage points left to right.

If I had not clicked on your links, only CS4 Extended was being talked about and I was afraid they had dropped everything but the extended version!

Yikes! Relieved to see we will still be able to upgrade to "basic" CS4.

Points left to right. Hi Mark, Yes, that's what I meant.

It looks like they are assessing each image, taking the sharpest parts of each, and masking out the softer bits, so that, when stacked, we are seeing only the sharpest bits.

That's amazing to me. I guess making an f32 shot into a f1.8 is a little beyond the future.

But it sure would be nice!

I would gladly move my camera left to right for a few extra shots.

We do that now for panorama stitching. -- Pam http://www.pbase.com/pam_r 'art is working on something 'til you like it...then leaving it that way' Coming soon - tutorials, videos, and more: http://www.PhotoshopCreativity.com

You can already, I ordered the Master Collection this afternoon and found a sweet discount code on the net for 15% off and it worked (that was -$374) :-) Quote: : >

Just remember there's been an upgrade change that only goes back 3 versions now.

So if you don't upgrade with CS5, then you'll have to pay full price for anything after. -- Kent http://www.pbase.com/kentc tutorial archive: http://porg.4t.com/KentC.html

Thanx Ken I'll keep that in mind! I'm on a Mac (G4 w G5 chips) and with a little luck CS5 will be Intel only. That will be an expensive upgrade! Fred B --
