Best shows on TV - DJ Z-Trip / Official Forums

I know the full Fall season hasn't hit the airwaves yet but what shows do you consider to be the best out there right now?

Or which ones are you looking forward to? The Tudors This show is beyond fabulous. It annoys me that a show CBC helps produce airs in Canada 7 months behind.

That's not fair. *stomps feet* It airs in the US on Showtime. *I didn't know this until just this minute, but it seems that CBC has sanitized the show for broadcast during this time slot to gain a "wider audience".

WTF!! The CBC will air movies like Cronenberg's Crash completely unedited, you can say "Fuck" on the news, but they "sanitize" The fucking Tudors???

Harper needs to go.

Now, people! /is so glad she rented the unedited Season One yesterday... Breaking Bad This show is so twisted and messed up but in a good way.

It's like watching an short independent film every week.

So well done. This is on AMC Mad Men Can't stop watching--this show had me hooked from the first episode last year.

I find it gives me little bits of insight into my own parents and the way they were raised and then how they were with me, and why our culture is the way it is.

This is on AMC and the networks picked it up this year.

CTV carries it here. The Riches I find this show quite inventive in its approach.

It's basically about how the quest for material wealth and power and the desire to keep up the Jones' doesn't build your identity but chips away at it, but it comes at this subject from a completely sideways angle which is really refreshing and new and actually makes you think.

Minnie Driver is just so great in it too Little Mosque on the Prairie Even though sometimes it's hit and miss as to how funny it is it's always worth watching.

It's gotten better with time too.

Yasir and Baber are my favourites.

Fox has picked up the rights to adapt the show in the US.

Be afraid. *ducks* Sophie I just really like this show.

It's been eons since CBC put together a sitcom worth watching and now they have two.

This one got picked up in the States on some cable channel or another. jPod There are rumours and speculation that it may be resurrected.

Keep your fingers crossed.

CBC hasn't said anything. The Hour Essential Viewing. Kenny vs Spenny I started watching this when it started way back on CBC and I think the show was so much better a few years ago but there are still some good ones.

I think the guys would like it now (my brother loves it now)--it's gotten...

Harsher (and sometimes a little more mean-spirited on Kenny's part).

The guys from South Park got involved a couple yrs ago and you can tell.

It airs in the US now on Comedy Central.(hope that link works--can't access comedy central from canada) It's on Showcase here. (No surprise--I prefer Spenny.) Durham County This show is in re-runs only on Showcase but if you haven't seen it check it out (or rent/buy it).

It's about a serial killer living in an average suburban neighbourhood and it's really dark. Has anyone been watching the new show Flashpoint that started airing a few weeks ago?

I'm curious--What do you think of it?

I don't have a TV so I have no idea... I am just impressed by the size of your post.

Holy crap. That looks professional.

Holy crap. That looks professional. Same.

Although I gotta big ass 42" LCD, it's my computer monitor.

I'm personally looking forward to the new season of Heroes, and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

Also if a new season of 24 were to ever happen, I might give that show one more chance...

Heroes and Lost (finally getting really interesting again)...

I'm a nerd

I dont see dexter on that list or the shield

Quote: : I dont see dexter on that list or the shield I checked out Dexter last year but I didn't really dig it.

I've only caught a few episodes of The Shield.

It didn't start airing in Canada until Season 6.

Crazy, yes. It's finally airing here at a decent time this year so I'll be checking it out but I haven't had the chance to really get into it.

Dragon's den. ramsay's kitchen nightmares. grand designs. that new one where the french chef gave couples restaurants to run. time team. chuckle brothers.

Heroes Sons Of Anarchy Ghost Hunters (I know but I like it) Entourage

Quote: : jPod There are rumours and speculation that it may be resurrected.

Keep your fingers crossed.

CBC hasn't said anything. Is there a way I can get this show??

I'ts the Douglas Coupland based drama right Is any good agggghhhh I'm a Coupland fan!!!!

Daily show + steezy colbeezy!!!

Yeah, it was an amazing show, actually.... CBC streams all the eps from their website. Spoiler:There are also torrents out in the wild, but that would be illegal, so don't download them.

English premier league Ncaa football Nfl football And the final season of ER

Woow thanks a lot

Quote: : woow thanks a lot They just released the season one dvd as well if you like it and you're interested in picking it up Eldi.

It was such a good show--people were really choked when CBC axed it.

It doesn't make any sense at all :/

H O T E L B A B Y L O N

Quote: : Ghost Hunters (I know but I like it) Is that the one where they are plumbers by day and ghost hunters by night?

There's been an explosion of these kinds of shows lately it seems.

There's one here called "Girly Ghost Hunters".

It's just awful. It's four chicks that go around Canada supposedly ghost hunting but really they just go to well-known sites where there have been reports of ghost sightings and scare each other and shriek a lot and act melodramatic.

It's embarrassing. I really like Paranormal State. A&E ran Children of the Paranormal for a little while this summer and I really liked that too. One show I forgot to mention earlier is Medium.

Not only is Patricia Arquette really good but it's based on a real person.

I think a lot of people just dismiss this show but it's well done.

Quote: : peterson English premier league hmm.

I hope you are supporting Newcastle United! if you can, tune in to see the Celtic UEFA cup game on Wed..

Anyone check the first episode of this show....i though it was pretty good.

You can see it here http://www.fox.com/fringe/

TV is pretty shitty right now.

It was the shit when it was Six Feet Under, The Sopranos, The Wire... As for now, Dexter Man Rapes Wild South Park (not as great as it has been but I still look forward to every new season) Californication True Blood (new Alan Ball vampire show on HBO) Entourage is the worst show on TV.

It's a bromance that should have ended 2 seasons ago.

Unfortunately, I still watch it because it is on TV.

That, and because you're gay. My family all flipped out on me this weekend because I told them that I don't watch House.

So I might have to check that out tonight.

Medical dramas can eat my ass, but I guess he's a real dick to everybody, so he'd probably strike a chord with me. Speaking of dicks, anything with Gordon Ramsay is automatically my favorite show.

The episode of that funboy Graham Norton that he was on was hilarious. True Blood, I fucked with the first one.

I'll give it a few more episodes. I need to watch South Park more.

I never watch it, but when I do, I laugh my ass off. And I heart Lost

Entourage Prison Break Desperate Housewives(I know it's gay but my girl got me hooked) Weeds

Quote: : Californication I wanted to like this show, but I just can't.

Every episode is the same exact thing: David Duchovny bangs a bunch of hot chicks without putting forth any effort whatsoever, then in the closing three minutes, he looks "sad" and "pensive" and "soul-searching" while some shitty acoustic ballad plays.

Teh L4m3.

Quote: : anyone check the first episode of this show....i though it was pretty good.

You can see it here http://www.fox.com/fringe/ fringe was great!

I can't wait for the next one.

Although, a lot happened in the first episode so hopefully the second one isn't boring. trueblood was awesome.

We watched the first 2 and was bummed to have to wait for the next one.

Kind of a creepy show but in a good way.

Quote: : Enki I wanted to like this show, but I just can't.

Teh L4m3. Wow, it's scary because that sounds exactly like my life....well, except for the part about banging a bunch of hot chicks.

Teh L4m3. I feel the same way, but I always end up watching the next episode.

I don't mind the series, but it's not as great as some people would like you to believe it to be.

Quote: : hmm. i hope you are supporting Newcastle United! if you can, tune in to see the Celtic UEFA cup game on Wed..

No i follow fulham because my favorite us national team player, clint dempsey plays for fulham.

Quote: : Wow, it's scary because that sounds exactly like my life....well, except for the part about banging a bunch of hot chicks.

Well they don't call you power bottom for nothing.

I can't wait for the coming out of the closet party at the Irish-Catholic Christmas gathering. House is an awful show.

Absolutely nothing that douchehat says or does is grounded in anything remotely medical.

Well that is an exaggeration but even still, it is pretty much bullshit. When are you gonna tell your parents about us?

Teh L4m3. Yes, I'll admit it is junk food but I was kind of into it.

Like I said, TV isn't very good right now. These first 2 episodes of Entourage blow donkey ass.

I think the writers have changed, every single joke is so over the top.

Ari's character has become annoying and his jokes take so much set-up.

And as far as every episode being the same in regards to Californication, you are probably right, however that is how I feel towards Entourage.

And the dude who plays "E" is a total douchebag. Season 1 was awesome Season 2 wasn't bad... and then it went to shit from there. Really though, it is the same formula just insert Head On, Aquaman, Medellin, etc... It is really a soap opera for guys.

Total bromance! Johnny Drama went from wanting calve implants to freaking out about his picture being taken from the wrong side of his face, to getting all neurotic over some chick.

It is just...well...gay.

I never did enjoy entourage.

All of my work buddies love it, but being from l.a., i find that that it plays on too many hollywood stereotypes, and just bugs me.

Quote: : House is an awful show.

Well that is an exaggeration but even still, it is pretty much bullshit.

Everyone I know is always trying to get me to watch this damn show too. The House-worship out there really gets on my nerves.

These are people who would sue any Dr who pulled that crap on them in hospital, yet they champion this character on tv.

Not only that but instead of using far superior long-acting pain medications (remember he's supposed to be some medical genius here) the writers have him abusing short acting vicodin simply because it's cliche.

It's a hideous stereotype and people like this are the reason the vast majority of people with chronic pain aren't taken seriously or given the meds they really need. And every single episode I've ever seen of this show, he has his residents (illegaly) break into the patient's home or vehicle or both to snoop for information on them.

That's fucked up.

Quote: : Where can i find it, not on amazon.com This article says it's on amazon.ca but I don't know if they ship outside of Canada or not, you'll have to check.

The CBC.ca shop has it too but I think the international shipping is probably going to be pretty pricey.

I could check the stores here and see if they have it and send it to you if it would save a lot of money--send me a PM if you'd like to try that.

(not listed in any particular order) Supernatural (enjoyed all 3 seasons so far) Dexter (gotta start watching season 2 on DVD) 24 (there was talk of another season) Entourage (i like it.

Not spectacular, but still a good show in my opinion) the Office (im caught up on all 4 seasons.

Cant wait for season 5) Lost (cant wait for the next season) Family Guy i was introduced to Kenny vs.

Spenny by some real good friends and i love it.

Lots of laughs. been bouncing around episodes from Season 1 through season 4 and I've enjoyed them all so far.
