What do you think of Batman: Gotham Knight? - Comic Book Resources Forums

If you were to compare Batman: Gotham Knight to the first two DC Universe films and the other animated Batman projects that Kevin Conroy has done how good would you say it is?

I'd say Gotham Knight is better than the first two DCU films.

It's also better than Mystery of the Batwoman, Return of the Joker and SubZero but Gotham Knight is not better than Batman: Mask of the Phantasm in my opinion.

Nice compilation of short stories.

I watch it more for the aesthetics than the stories tho.

The deadshot part had some beatiful scenes in it.

I liked the stories well enough (though one of them was previously done), and the various takes on the look of Batman was interesting.

What killed me most was at the end, during the credits.

Geesh... isn't there an American animation studio willing to tackle these projects?

Just another case of outsourcing, I suppose.

I thought the idea was to make it in Japanimation.

Hence, Japanese artists etc...

Working Through Pain was my favorite segment.

Crossfire was great too.

I thought it was fun but there really wasent mutch depth too it, I really liked working through the pain.

I liked a few of the stories but for me some of them lost the integrity of the batman.

Some of them felt too anime and not comic book. *Visit iRamble WebBlog* http://www.imrambling.com You into Comics?Click here for best offers http://www.mycomicshop.com/?AffID=379851P01 http://comicbookwallpapers.weebly.com/

I agree that parts of it were absolutely stunning looking, but overall I didn't care for it at all.

I'd say 50/50. I really dug certain stories and was turned off by others.

Some were TOO stylized, some were TOO "typical Anime", etc etc etc. I'd say it's decent.

I prefer "Justice League : The New Frontier", "Batman Beyond : Return of the Joker", and "Batman : Mask of the Phantasm" as far as animated DC fliks go, though.

Better than "Superman : Doomsday", "Batman : Curse of the Batwoman", and "batman : Subzero" IMO. I still argue that "Justice League : The New Frontier" is the best "based-on-a-comic-book" animated film made to date.

It was just amazing IMO.

The book was obviously better, but, on its own merit, it was really solid.

Didn't see K.C other DTV's About "Gotham Knight": "Do I have a story to tell you": The story is OK, the art is great for the backgrounds, but the charters design is poor;

The arms are too long and the lips are too thick, Batman looked fat. *Story: B.

Art & Designs: D.

General rate: C. The second Story: Characters designs are much better than the previous story, all the scenes showed much improvement in characters design, the cop hating Batman was good and how he changed his opinion about Batman is worth watching.

The homage to artist "Jim Lee" looks great when Batman is posing on a building, it looks much better than the art of "Jim Lee".

Why is "Commissioner Gordon" titled as Lietanint? *Story: B.

Art & Designs: B.

General: B. Story 3: "Bruce Wayne" looks like a mix between "Yagami Light" & "Totta Matsuda" from "Death Note" and this is great, the art of "Death Note" is the best anime art IMHO. *Story: A.

Art & Designs: A.

General: A. Story 4: Killer croc looks odd, that's all I can say about it. *Story: A.

Art & Designs: A(minus 3 points for the figure of Croc).

General: A. "Dealing With Pain": This one is my favorite, specially the hospital scene (always wanted to be an M.D), the art is great and makes it much worthy to see.

Bruce looks like Kyosuke from "Rival Schools" *Story: A.

Art & Designs: A.

General: A. "Deadshot": Not such a great story, but Deadshot is a great villain and his shooting ability is great.

The designs: Bruce looks like a middle aged man, Alfred looks like Watari(L's old friend from "Death Note"). *Story: B.

Art & Designs: B.

General: B. The film in general: B In all the scenes Gordon looks like "Gary Oldman" (is it because this film is continuum to "Batman Begins"?)

It was suppused to bridge the gap btween the batman begins.
