best bay rum cologne? - Badger & Blade

Who is the best bay rum cologne? exist a niche bay rum? thanks

Ogallala for pure scent and SCS for the mixed.

I'm a big fan of the bonny doon bay rhum, but my recommendation would be that you can order a sampler pack from Barclay Crocker.

It will let you try quite a few bay rums, and find one that's right for you in terms of scent and price.

I'd also give Ogallala a try - it's pretty good stuff, and distinct from other bay rums I had tried.

St. John's Bay Rum is one of my faves along with Ogallala and you can even use the Pinaud Bay Rum as a splash after a shower.

I'd add SCS Bay Rum with a Twist as well.

Ogallala wins out for me as well.

Great shaving soaps too!

The new formulas are very very creamy.

Nice to see so many people saying Ogallala. I am waiting for one of their 5 scents sample packs to arrive. I say 'sample' .

. . each bottle is 2oz. Can't wait.

I have to throw the C.O.

Bigelow bay rum out there.

This is the one you can also get at Bath and Body Works.

C.O. Bigelow is the bay rum for me.

Ogallala, hands down.

I like the Bigelow - but don't have anything to compare it to.

Well, to be more exact, scent-wise I find Trumper's to be the most refined cologne-wise (again this only in line with colognes, as QED is my favorite bay rum scent out there).

But Ogallala wins hands down on overall performace (scent, staying power, et cetera...)

I love the way Ogallala smells and their aftershaves are fantastic too.

Also a real pleasure to deal with. I also use the CO Bigelow, and while I don't like the scent as much as Ogallala's, it's still very nice and has amazing staying power on me.

Really lasts all day.

I really like SCS's bay Rum with a Twist...but it may not be the "pure" bay rum you're looking for... goes on smelling a bit like ginger ale...but during the drydown, the bay rum really comes forward...very spicy but not too clovey

I got my Ogallala sampler last week and had to travel within two days so I have limited usage of their products, but, so far a hearty 2-thumbs up.

Using the entire line pre shave, soap (real creamy), post shave, after shave and cologne leaves you drunken on bay rum, wow I love this stuff.

In order of preference: C.

O. Bigelow Bay Rum TOBS Bay Rum Ogallala Bay Rum SCS Bay Rum w/ a Twist Pinaud Bay Rum I still want to try the Dominica.

The Bigelow is my hands down favorite - it is more complex than most I have tried, but has the added advantage of lasting all day on me, which none of the others do.

However, the twist that I got as part of the SCS mega group buy package replaces the ginger ale with a gloriously rich bay rum scent paired with an equally enjoyable lime twist.

The lime in fact is much more distinct than before. Excellent stuff.

Try some of the new batch, it's responsible for getting me back on the bay rum bandwagon once again!

Hmmm, I must have had some of that original batch, because that really is what it smelled like to me - not heavy on the bay rum.

Maybe this does warrant trying it again for the first time.

To me it was a complete turn-around in scent, but I hope your results are just as good if you decide to take the test plunge. I don't have anything that would serve as a small sample container otherwise I'd post some off to you.

I have both Bonny Doon bay rhum and SCS Bay Rum with a Twist, and the SCS is similar to the Bonny Doon (once the lime dries off).

I bought my SCS BRWAT recently so it was probably the reformulated one.

I like it a lot. I'm looking forward to trying Ogallala bay rum.

They have a promotion: A 2-oz.

Sample of their premium stuff for $5 (shipping included).

Can't wait 'til it gets here. Dave

Thanks Sirs, great info. PD:about niche is posibble Creed Bhayrum Vetiver? and more sofisticated in other level Trumper bay rum
