Master Bay Rum - Badger & Blade
I'm surprised that this has not been reviewed before.
I bought a large bottle from Sally Beauty Supply for under 7 dollars.
This stuff stings, but not badly, and should be expected from an alcohol based splash.
The really nice part, is that it includes glycerine which really helps keep your face moisturised.
The scent pretty nice, and lasts all day for me.
When I use up this bottle, I am definitely buying another.
If you have a Sally's near by, give it try, you'll be surprised.

Love this stuff. Picked it up at Sally's as well.
Not entirely thrilled with the scent at first, but quickly came to love it.
Stings: yes. I've started collecting more alcohol-based ASs recently (Aqua Velva my current go-to AS).
I like the sting and the glycerin does seem effective at moisturizing.
My wife isn't especially keen on the scent (yet!), so I use Gillette Complete Skincare AS which is unscented to tone down the odor.
It doesn't hurt that this is a decent AS as well.
Traveled recently to Mississippi and got a haircut ($4!) at a barbershop outside Keesler AFB.
The older proprietor/barber wrapped up the cut with genuine Lather King lather and straight razor on the neck, then finished up with aftershave.
I identified the scent immediately and looked over to see the Master Bay Rum bottle.
Great stuff.

This is a severely underrated product, IMO.
This can be picked up at Sally's, I paid $7.49 for 15oz so that's only $.50/oz.
That puts it right up there with some of the cheapest aftershaves on the market, gets a 10 for price.
It is not designed to have a cooling effect that I'm aware of, so it doesn't.
I have been using this aftershave for the past week and I must say that I am mightily impressed.
The scent may be somewhat off-putting to some, but to me it's a rather weak bay rum that dissipates quickly.
I think it smells fairly good!
The girlfriend agrees.
Now for the efficacy.
This is where this product really shines.
Not only does it not burn much at all in my experience, it actually moisturizes fairly well to the point where I do not need to apply balm.
This is definitely a huge plus, my face feels great after splashing this and only this on immediately after the shave.
This is definitely a great product at a great price, a true bargain for wetshaving.
This may very well become a go-to, I like it that much.
Apparently the scent lasts much longer on some gents, it disappears in a couple minutes which is actually a plus in my book.

If you like the Bay Rum you ought to check out the other Master A/S line.
If you have a local barber supply house they will likely carry the whole line.
I personally like the Bay Rum but like the "Lord and Master" better for the same type of scent.
The Ocean Blue is a great nautical scent and the Iceland Breeze is a great citrus scent.
My go-to scent is Topaz.
It is a rather neutral barber shop scent which goes on great but does not linger or interfere with other permanant colognes/perfumes/eau de toilettes.

Smells pretty good to me, however my wife hates it (and all bay rums).
I still use it though.
I like this better than Ogalla's and Pinaud's bay rum, I think it has a better scent.
The scent doesn't last a real long time, however, I find this to be more of a positive than a negative.
I really don't want a extremely powerful or long lasting bay rum scent.
As for the moisturizing properties, I find them to be a little better than your average alcohol based AS.
Which to me isn't necessarily a bad thing since I have fairly oily skin.
It does burn a bit, but nowhere near as much as Pinaud's bay rum, about average for a alcohol based AS.
I had a $5 gift certificate to Sally's (thanks to the wife), so I only payed $2 after tax.
Even at full price it is a bargain considering the size of the bottle (15 oz).
I would recommend everyone try it, unless of course you hate the smell of bay rum.
