Fox Hosts Outraged Al Qaeda Might Watch C-SPAN
rawstory.com — Fox & Friends host Brian Kilmeade claimed to be upset at the notion that Al Qaeda may be watching hearings about Bush Administration interrogation policies that aired on C-SPAN. Kilmeade says he believes that Al Qaeda may target David Addington for his testimony before the House Judiciary Committee. So much for open government. Can you say LAME?

- mikelieman, on 06/28/2008, -1/+8"Loyal Bushies" like Addington and Fox News are first and foremost, cowards.
So it's not surprising these guys would panic about another non-existent threat. Given that Al Qaeda is their shorthand for anyone who *isn't* a Loyal Bushie, it's pretty clear why they're paranoid and delusional. - ELCad, on 06/29/2008, -1/+2It is truly awesome.

- mrmontrose, on 06/28/2008, -1/+36Watch Fox, I watch it all the time, i helps me embarrass my conservative friends.
- CryRightardCry, on 06/30/2008, -1/+2Watch out, it will make you as dumb as a right winger.
- ozid, on 06/28/2008, -16/+1I agree with you, but I'm not a liberal. I suppose the biggest difference between liberals and I, is that I was let in on the secret that "stupider" is not a word. :)
- deathyepl, on 06/28/2008, -1/+17Huh. The dictionary appears to disagree with you.

Next time you make a stupid statement, you might want to check your references first. - rayfiend, on 06/28/2008, -1/+13ozid, That should be "between liberals and me" --- plus what deathyepl said.
- lennybird, on 06/28/2008, -7/+3I guess the difference between me, liberals and conservatives is that I could care less whether it's spelled "more stupid," or "stupider" - I know what he meant.
- jrburkh, on 06/28/2008, -0/+8Actually, the phrase you are looking for would be, "couldn't care less".
Sincerely,
The Proper English Police (Who Also Screws Things Up On Occasion) - lennybird, on 06/29/2008, -3/+1That's assuming I meant to say I couldn't care less. I knew exactly what I was typing. Rather, it was a lack of understanding regarding to the phrase - neither a grammar nor vocabulary error.
- CryRightardCry, on 06/30/2008, -1/+1@Lennybird
So you are saying it wasn't a mistake in grammer or spelling, you are just dumb?
- deathyepl, on 06/28/2008, -1/+17Huh. The dictionary appears to disagree with you.
- RajDhillon, on 06/28/2008, -1/+13I'm a conservative and I hate fox news...

- ispshadow, on 06/29/2008, -0/+1It was even better that I had to scroll up to see the "Just kidding, Liberal all the way."
Awesome, I actually chuckled.
- fragout36, on 06/28/2008, -11/+3Why do Libs always attack FOX. Yeah they may be biased, but so are liberal news stations like CBS. If its not right one way then its not right both ways. Thus the whole double standard issue. You know just the other day a Liberal politician said Barack OSAMA instead of Obama, but no one made a fuss. Let me tell you, if that was a Republican he would have been hung politically.
Oh well, what do I know I'm just Republican.- carpespasm, on 06/28/2008, -0/+8Link to politician calling him Barack Osama?
- noen, on 06/28/2008, -1/+3On the other hand. If it's right for conservative extremists to bash liberals then we have the right to do the same. The problem is that the moment a liberal talks back with any force you all get the vapors and start clutching your pearls.
But I don't even watch TV. It's all wingnut territory as fas as I am concerned. - fragout36, on 06/28/2008, -3/+1http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/06/24/chris-mat ...
Whoops, I'm sorry I wasn't correct, Chris Matthews called, Osama Bin Laiden Obama.
In any case if that was a Republican he would have been in deep *****. - fragout36, on 06/28/2008, -1/+2@Noen
Two wrongs don't make a right.
It's not right to bash either side. And the Liberals can say anything they want because right now when Liberals hears Republican they automatically dislike them. I apologize for the way George Bush acted in office, but it doesn't make all of us like him. - noen, on 06/28/2008, -0/+7But I'm not saying it's wrong fragout. It's ok for the right to criticize the left and it's also ok for us to criticize the ***** crazy right. You're just whining because it'll be another 40 years before any sane person lets the right get within a mile of the levers of power.
- fragout36, on 06/28/2008, -0/+0Noen, I'm not whining, I'm simply trying to point out that both parties are at fault for hard feelings thats all, and that we should agree to disagree.
- GunnerMan, on 06/28/2008, -2/+1Noen you guys complain the right can bash the left all they want but when the left bashed the right we get our panties in a tizzy? Thats interesting since Rightwing leaders such as Rush Limbaugh critisize republicans for NOT standing up for themselves. I am guilty, I live in a VERY liberal area and I keep my mouth shut because I know you people can not have a meaningful conversation about anything political, you just get angry and you exemplify my point by throwing in the "***** crazy right" comment. Most of the time the left can not comment back with any force anyway lol. "***** crazy right," yeah throw that in the most intelligent of comments and it will make the comment loose most of it's value to the reciever. Can't you guys talk like normal people, it would be a lot mroe fun to talk to you guys then.
There are nonsense people on both sides who do bash the other side and expect nothing in return but but saying the right is more guilty than the left is false. Just remeber your normal American republican is as normal as they come. You don't ever ever look at politicians as a definition of the party. You look at the people. - mikelieman, on 06/29/2008, -0/+6CBS is owned by WESTINGHOUSE, and clearly not a "Liberal" station.
DEMOCRACY NOW is an example of the "Liberal" train of thought. Let's see... Nope... Nothing even remotely like it on CBS.
- BeefBaron, on 06/29/2008, -1/+8I love how Americans can so easily be divided up into liberals and conservatives, two terms which mean almost nothing, but are used as an excuse for all kinds of stupidity.
- shakbhaji, on 06/29/2008, -0/+1That was actually mind numbing.

You should watch Fox more then you'll be scared enough and recognise who the real patriots are.
(yes this is sarcasm)- PhilLesh69, on 06/29/2008, -1/+2You're right. If we all just watched Fox News Channel, we'd all be demanding that C-Span be shut down immediately. We'd also demand that the government go underground and stop being so open and free.
Because this is an existential threat from islamo-fascists who hate us for our freedoms!
Those of us who still don't buy into the whole fear-based politics keep thinking that their way of thinking is cowardice, but if we would just watch Fox News Channel, we'd all understand that cowardice is the new patriotism.
- PhilLesh69, on 06/29/2008, -1/+2You're right. If we all just watched Fox News Channel, we'd all be demanding that C-Span be shut down immediately. We'd also demand that the government go underground and stop being so open and free.

- Hangly, on 06/29/2008, -0/+1I'm not so sure the CIA/NSA and the White House's interestes always coincide. Remember Rumsfeld and Cheney made an end-run around the CIA in 02-03 and did their own intelligence because the CIA wan't giving them exactly the kind of information they wanted on Iraq.
Fox may be the direct mouthpiece of this administration.

- PhilLesh69, on 06/29/2008, -0/+3No, unfortunately, that won't make them go away.
They know how to appeal to a demographic of low intelligence, ill informed viewers. They use lots of flashy graphics to keep their attention, and they don't delve into complex issues because they know their audience can't grasp or understand anything other than simplistic, black and white issues of so-called life and death importance.
Fear is an emotional thing. They don't bother with logic and reason, because those take intelligence. Emotion is the easiest way to reach their target audience.

(For the record, I am not in favor of censorship for security purposes, just making the point.)- PhilLesh69, on 06/29/2008, -0/+4But finish the idea -- the argument was made, and it never held any traction during WWII, because people back then understood what their nation stood for, and refused to give up anything to the enemy during that struggle.

- OC73, on 06/28/2008, -5/+5Only an idiot would doubt that our enemies pay attention to our media.
- haydesigner, on 06/28/2008, -1/+4So by that logic, you would support banning all media in the US then?
- OC73, on 06/28/2008, -5/+3Where did I indicate that that was my logic? The point I was making was our politicians and media should be more responsible with the information they disclose. Many lives are at stake.
- SquigglyP, on 06/29/2008, -1/+3if that's your point, then you're wrong, to a certain extent. This particular subject is one of importance to us, because depending on what these secret interrogation techniques are, the US could be in violation of international law, and the people who know about this could be subject to war crimes charges and crimes against humanity.
The fact that there is doubt about the legality of what we are doing to prisoners, and the fact that they are systematically refusing to disclose information to the people of this country - the very people these politicians are supposed to be serving - lends a great deal of weight to the idea that there is something very wrong going on.
The plain fact that they keep adding more and more layers of bureaucracy between us and the truth should be a great big red warning flag to every single citizen in this country who would like to continue living in a truely free society. We are supposed to know what our government is doing, and yet through the actions of not only this president, but those of various presidents and congresses since at least the civil war, the every day functions of this government have become hidden beneath layers of secrecy which have become more and more complex and labyrinthine. Not a week goes by when some story pops up about how some agent or officer screws up royally due to some simple bit of intelligence or some report they never saw because it spent a year and a half in some department it wasn't supposed to have been in in the first place. The people who work in government can't even navigate the red tape in their own departments.
And somehow clods like you think adding that one final layer will fix everything. Yeah, the Department of Homeland Security is a great idea. Let's take our failing intelligence systems and put one more obstacle in it's path through which the information has to filter. Homeland Security should have been named "The Department of Government Cover-ups", since that's basically all it's done since it's creation. "Oops, we accidentally deleted the evidence you needed during our investigation. Sorry!"
- Hangly, on 06/29/2008, -2/+1It's a damn good thing then that Al Qaeda doesn't exist.

- SwordofKahless, on 06/28/2008, -8/+1Whether the hearings should be opened or closed is legitimately open for debate. ***** You Too. - Stevanoski, on 06/28/2008, -5/+1Your well thought out reply reflects well on you and your friends. With leaders like you I can see why Americans point at the Left and laugh.
- SquigglyP, on 06/29/2008, -1/+1Yeah! How dare he try to find out if the government is doing anything illegal! It's not like it's his job or anything!!
Oh... wait...
No, really... several thousand of our troops lost for a war we should never have started, and that's just excused away with "Well that's what happens in a war!", but the thought of ONE GUY being targeted for divulging information relating to possible war crimes committed in our names - which would have been at least partially this guy's fault in the first place - that's just going too far. Seriously, if the worst we are doing to people over there is the stuff that's already been claimed to have been done, then what's the worry? If the stuff we are doing over there is WORSE than what they've claimed they were doing, then the resulting situation for him would be 1) become a victim of a terrorist plot or 2) be tried and sentenced to life in prison or death for war crimes. Either ***** way, the guy would be completely screwed. I wonder why he's not too eager to talk.
- rationalbeats, on 06/28/2008, -2/+8***** You
- bwa236, on 06/28/2008, -1/+4what is is with Foxnews hosts taking charge on the shows and making fools of the whole network by trying desperately to making a mountain out of a mole-hill. I can't imagine even Murdoch is happy with this sort of trash.
While I may not agree with Geraldo on certain things, one thing I like about the guy is he'll respond sensibly to fools on the air, taking a stance like "why are you trying to make this a big deal." I am sure he's dissatisfied with the direction journalism has gone in his time. - rationalbeats, on 06/28/2008, -2/+13Only cowards and fascist live in this world view. What an embarrassment to our nation.
- theghoul, on 06/28/2008, -2/+11Do they make this ***** up as they go or what?
- jellygraph, on 06/28/2008, -0/+7Yep, but its all determiend by the folks who run Fox... what the message of the day should be
- TheRhinoceros, on 06/28/2008, -1/+14This guy is an idiot. How can you say in this day and age that Al-qaeda would not know what this schmuck Addington looks like? I can go to google images and pull up hundreds of images of this man on the web. I can look him up on wikipedia. I can look him up on youtube. He's out there. Quit riffing, Doogie Howser.
Who cares how al-qaeda gets their info. They are gonna get what info they want regardless of what addington, c-span, fox, Who the hell ever this schmuck is,or anyone else does. Addington's name is out there. Hell, I'm sure mine is too. Gonna freak if Al-qaeda gets me? NFL = Not Friggin Likely. Calm down, Doogie Howser.
Somebody needs to smack this moron. Somebody needs to smack his boss for putting him in front of a camera and letting him speak.
election-coverage.com - gr8nash, on 06/28/2008, -12/+2Did you guys even watch the footage your commenting on? You guys just love getting on your liberal soap boxes with your liberal friends and patting each other on the back. That interview Brian was sucking wind about was awful. There was nothing professional about it. WHERE ARE ANY INDEPENDENT THINKERS? Right-wigers == Left-wingers they are just as bad, no room for other opinions or the thought that maybe they dont know it all.
- noen, on 06/28/2008, -0/+4I've seen it. It's just Fox ***** attempting to justify torture. Addington is a war criminal of the first order who is openly contemptuous of congress. Congress is constitutionally mandated to conduct oversight hearings. Especially since there are allegations of torture.
- orenshk, on 06/28/2008, -3/+6He's just pissed they're not watching him.
- AsylumAleikum, on 06/28/2008, -9/+2Congressman Delahunt is glad that he helped expose the face of a government employee to Al Qaeda. Do I have to tell you that Delahunt is a DemocRAT?
- yakski, on 06/29/2008, -0/+3Wow... what a moronic response....... Anybody who wanted to know who the hell he was could have googled him once and gotten 1000 times the information aired in that meeting... that meeting where Addington LIED about what he knows and evaded the questions... Guess you could care less about the corruption that reeks out of that man and instead want to make it look like he is some kind of victim... That friggin moron has victimized 300million Americans by making torture the new American tradition, by promoting inhuman treatment of human beings and by helping destroy the little remnants left of the Constitution.
- reechme, on 06/28/2008, -2/+5Dugg for the hysterical fact that even Al Queada must thing that Fox News is vile ;)
- munen123, on 06/28/2008, -5/+8fox news is for morons
- DiggGeek24, on 06/28/2008, -5/+1Good maybe the govt will shutdown the propaganda FOX, CNN, MSNBC and we can get real news.
- DiggGeek24, on 06/28/2008, -3/+1Im being dugg my little Fox news sheeps you must like govt propaganda
- kds405, on 06/28/2008, -2/+4What are they talking about? Islamic extremists 18-49 are a key demo.
- nem0, on 06/28/2008, -3/+6Hey Brian Kilmeade, if you hate freedom and democracy so much, why don't you go live in a country like Iran or North Korea? Here in the US we have the right to know how decisions are made in government.
- Phillycat81, on 06/28/2008, -4/+6When is someone from FOX news not outraged?
- chrismurphy, on 06/28/2008, -2/+9+1 for Geraldo for saying some people are just paranoid and want to restrict the press and free society.
-1 for Geraldo cluelessly saying that Democrats are going to go after Republicans. This is collection of Democrats that can't prevent anything Bush and Republicans have desired. Torture, spying, retroactive immunity for telecoms, Iraq, attorney's scandal, the list goes on. There's nothing Democrats have been willing to hold Bush or Republicans accountable for. It's simply absurd to suggest they're suddenly going to become competent in the next Congress. - Stevanoski, on 06/28/2008, -11/+13Love it that such a little cable news company, Fox, gets so much air time here on digg. The Left here on digg are like the little piggies of Animal Farm. They must control everything.
- moolaismyfriend, on 06/28/2008, -14/+8Hey look at the white trash redneck who wants to pretend he loves America by using bumper sticker talking points.
Why do you hate America *****?- Stevanoski, on 06/29/2008, -6/+9Wow, well thought out reply moo. Have you been practicing in front of the mirror? Oh, wait, that is the same reply to spam to all my comments. oink oink.
- EIderofzion, on 06/29/2008, -1/+1Hey look at cornfed rich white boy trashing lower classed whites,(secretly hates himself?) while at the same time trashing his own country. A luxury 99% of the people of the globe DO NOT ENJOY!
- DrunkTomato, on 06/28/2008, -10/+4you're an idiot. FOX is not a "little cable news company", it is a giant company and a major source of information for many people. What is unfortunate and morally wrong is that most of these people (not to mention their intended audience) are weak-minded and easily manipulated... like yourself.
- Stevanoski, on 06/29/2008, -4/+9psssst, I have an idea, don't watch Fox, then your little noggin won't hurt as much. And it only has an audience of 2 million so it is very small.
- BillE3, on 06/28/2008, -1/+4As the famous line went "everyone is equal, some are more equal than others". Not smarter, just more equal.
- EIderofzion, on 06/29/2008, -0/+2Yes and they are alike them in other ways too,, they become everything they started out against. I certainly hope their messiah turns out to be more of a Snowball than Napoleon.

- Scottc320, on 06/29/2008, -3/+2Tell that to the people that died on 9/11
- Hangly, on 06/29/2008, -0/+6Dear people who died on 9/11;
Your government murdered you, and used your deaths as justification to launch two (perhaps soon three) illegal wars in which nearly a million people died. Also the perpetrators have nearly torn to shreds the founding documents and ideals of your country.
Being dead, you probably already know that. If I were you I would haunt the ***** out of the White House and Congress. (If you've seen Poltergeist or the Hellraiser series you know the stuff I'm talking about.)
If you can catch up with God sometime (maybe during his break,) tell him that you're angry as hell, and you want him to make with some of those Old Testament wrath-of-the-Almighty-style punishments.
For what it's worth, we who survived you are kind of disorganized at the moment, but eventually we will get our ***** together and exact some revenge of our own on your bahalf.
Sincerely,
America - mvlazysusan, on 06/29/2008, -0/+3victims families want a new investigation
