Denver Broncos Sign Free-Agent WR Darrell Jackson

BRONCOS SIGN JACKSON

The Denver Broncos and free-agent wide receiver Darrell Jackson made it official today, agreeing to a one-year contract after several days of negotiations.

“There were three or four other teams interested in Darrell, but everything aligned perfectly for us with Denver,” Brian Mooney, Jackson’s agent, told the Denver Post. “The Broncos gave us the best fit from the offense they run, the coaching staff they have and the opportunity he has both short-term and long-term. Darrell is planning on playing for a while.”

Right now reports indicate that Jackson will compete with Keary Colbert for the No. 2 receiver job, across the field from No. 1 receiver Brandon Marshall. But if the injury Marshall suffered when he put his arm through his TV turns out to be more serious than currently believed, Jackson and Colbert could both start. Brandon Stokley and Samie Parker will likely be the Broncos’ fourth and fifth receivers this season.

Jackson had several good years with the Seahawks, but he was a disappointment in 2007 with the 49ers, catching just 46 passes for 497 yards.

THE SIGNINGS OF PARKER, COLBERT, AND JACKSON STILL CAN'T MAKE UP FOR J.WALKER'S POTENTIAL.

keyword POTENTIAL... walker needed to be on the field. which he wasn't. so the statement is irrelevant then.

Potential what........

Potential Knee Surgery?

Besides his favorite TE Cutler has had only 2 legit constant WRs targets since hes been in the NFL, Marshall and the slot machine Stokely Walker was there at first but didn't help at all his 2nd year. and the rest were a bunch of scrubs.

Signing all these WRs this off-season gives cutler more targets

Sammie Parker is a deep threat he wasn't used right in KC and look who KC has had at QB.

Colbert well I don't know about him it might work he definitely has the potential maybe the light will come on.

D jax well he was a nice target in Seattle but he does drop a lot of balls.

Regardless these players will help keep Marshall, Sheffler and Stokely open.

Now draft a franchise RB like Stewart or Mendenhall and ill be happy.

Man f*ck Walker. I defended that dude with the green bay situation and even was a big supporter when he was in denver but once he started crying about losing his spot when he was injured I gave up on him. I mean what do you want the coach to do...not play anyone at WR because you are hurt. It wasnt even for certain that he would not be the number 1 this year he would of just had to produce in the preseason workouts. So basically he was scared of competition.
